Re: Tommygun does what with paper?

Vermin_King posted a link to this model and I gave it a try.
It's some kind of rice sorting machine, but it could be any kind of SciFi machine or street furniture.
It will give your minis something different to hid behind.
Note: I did rescale it in Gimp by changing the picture from 100 dpi to 300 dpi.
This made it 3 times smaller. If you are not familiar with Gimp you can try and print it at 33% to make it smaller.
It took me 15 minutes to cut out and glue, so a pretty quick build. Most of the little tabs you can cut off.
There are two sets of small tabs mark with a "C" , keep the slightly larger one.
It could have been designed to fold together better.
I'm tempted to redo it for folding , but probably won't.
    It's not that bad.
I also put two pennies inside it to give it weight.

I look forward to seeing one of these guys in some of the pics you take of your builds. That cut-out portion where I assume you pour the grain is almost a sniper hole to be shooting through. Glad you found a use for it.

New model I put together the other night.
It's a Beta test model from Ebbles. It will eventually be part of an entire airfield set.
This particular model is of the aircraft tug.
I'll post more of the beta pieces as they come out. I'm not sure of the time frame of the releases.

    More about it here:

He did one of those Alien APC a while back.
He has one cargo space shuttle done and may get to an aerospace plane at some point.
This set and a follow on building set will get the airfield flushed out.

The bunny is a robot painted like the one from Sucker Punch.

The tug looks good... it's much larger than I envisioned. Have you built a Pinzgauer yet?

No it's a bit big storage wise.
I may have to come up with something about half that size.
It will probably be plasticard as I haven't master 3D software yet.

More of Ebble's space port project:

This is the Follow Me car.
It comes in four versions: Security, Customs, Administrative and the checkered one here.
Something I put together while watching TV.

All I can say is that all your stuff is amazing! Highly detailed and easy to deploy. The only sad part is the lack of xeno or more 40k inspired architecture ^^ keep it up none the less!

Re: Tommygun does what with paper?

By the way, what kind of paper glue do you guys use? I have some basic stick laying around, but was thinking if there's a "pro choice"?

  16. #396

Re: Tommygun does what with paper?

I'm definitely not a pro, but here is what I use:
    1. Elmers School Glue for most projects
    2. Elmers Tacky Glue for projects on thinner card or paper
    3. Elmers No Wrinkle for those times when you are glueing two larger surfaces together
    4. Elmers All Purpose Glue Stick for covering a lot of area that won't be under too much stress

Re: Tommygun does what with paper?

I use Lineco's PH Neutral PVA.
It's used for book binding, archival and art work.
When it dries, it stays flexible too.

Just stay away from UHU glue, it will fail in the long run.

I've done a bunch of paper models and many of Tommygun's. I use Scotch Scrapbooker's Glue and have had great success with it.

Sadly, the website is still down. From the photos, these look like amazing paper models! Kudos and thank you!
