    Tommygun does what with paper?

The purpose of this log is to distribute free printable terrain items for use on terrain boards or on models.
These items are commonly known as papercraft / paper craft, card stock models or just plain paper models.
Items like boxes, posters and anything you can use as props.
I started doing paper terrain items in my log a while ago and decided to make a separate log for them.
I was thinking that they would just get lost in there eventually.

Edit: Most of these items are best printed on thick 110Lb (199 gsm) paper, but the cigarettes cartons are better made with thinner normal paper.
It is also a good idea to add a little weight to each object if possible.
I put a penny or two in each larger box and lead 00 buck shot in the smaller boxes.
This keeps them from rolling around on the table too much.

Photos to help build water bottles.
Notice the slanted bevel on the top of water box or bottles.

I was debating doing that bag for the same reason.
I thought it would be too big until I walked into a Costco store and saw a 2Lb bag about 1 kilo in the store.
....and yes it was about the size of someones torso.
I can't understand why we Americans are getting so big.

Really like the effect of the shrink wrap on the water bottle palette, almost can't tell if the bottles are modelled or card stock from the top

Re: Tommygun does what with paper?

Here is a simpler set of boxes I have been working on.
I wanted a smaller set of boxes to add variety and fit better on vehicles.
    One note about them.
I continued the box color onto the white folding area so the white would not show as much when the boxes are completed.
You will have to look closer as to where to fold them now.
The boxes are smaller than what the figure in the background would seem to make them.
I think it is the angle or trick of perspective.

I put these images together to show people what it is I do to make these props.
It is not difficult to do, but it can be time consuming.
I just gather images from the web and use MS Paint and Gimp to photoshop them together with modifications.
I'm putting a 3D explosion template together next.
Maybe this will give you ideas and you can try it out?

Great stuff Tommygun, thanks for sharing. Love the soylent green vending machine and the 70s style arcade machine. This is really essential stuff for urban skirmish games like Infinity and should go well with the awesome buildings in your other log. Good job!

Re: Tommygun does what with paper?

Happy Halloween if you're in a part of the world that celebrates it.
I put together some equipment cases this time and added a second sheet with electronic devices in them as well.
Something you might see in a field post or Mobil HQ. I hope to have a sheet with small tents too eventually.
The explosion was an experiment. I am not real happy with it
I saw something similar that was 3 to 4 cm tall that worked better at a small size.
I was going to do a multi part one similar to the Litko nuclear explosion, but I'm not sure now.
    http://www.litkoaero.com/page/LAI/PROD/TS/TS088-LRG
I may use this picture from a French test? It would be about 2 feet (66cm) long if I do it.
If want to use the small explosion you have to print it twice to have enough parts to make one explosion.
That's it. I leave you with "Hello WHAT!"
I didn't photo shop it, I just added the caption.
