I added a few fake Ad posters to my Gallery.
Some are aimed at Infinity, but a lot are generic Sci Fi.
Look for the files named Com 1 300 dpi and Com 2 300 dpi

    Yes it is.

I may have a new paper Building system to post soon and later a small SOC-R riverine boat as well.

Is it about the size of the MMiP boat? That one is a lot more versatile than I originally thought

It is one of these type boats.
It wont be an exact copy though.
Edit: there will also be a white template for it if you want to make it out of plasticard.
I'll post more details in a different log though.

Here is a look at the building I'm working on.
It's a collapsible system for easier storage and also modular.
It will be based on the Habitat 67 building in Canada, but not as large.
This is just one of two basic modules.
There will also be a modular balcony system as well.
The sections will be held in place with bobby pins and weighted down with a few coins.
I've changed the roof support system from the drawing to a simple wedge and will re-enforce the roof with chipboard (think cereal boxes).
Right now I just need to finish off a few other projects and finalize the design.

Looks very intriguing and has a very futuristic feel - looking forwards to seeing your execution of this.

Re: Tommygun does what with paper?

    Well it is still paper.

    Condo Module.
This was made with a skirmish type game in mind.
Here is what I have so far.
I had to make a lot of changes to my original idea.
I had imagined a much smaller unit, but the original unit would not have been big enough for 40mm bases.
Workable Stairs also made thing harder.
Two of the walls will be removable to access the interior and held in place with magnets.
I'm thinking of using a sliding door held with magnets and made to slide along a straightened paper clip.
    Well see if this works?
The unit is designed to be placed in multiple groups, but you can vary the layout.
That is, in a straight line, staggered or back to back.
I even added a sky light.
The floors will be mark to show were the door and windows are so when the walls are removed you will still know where they were.
Any model in base contact with these marks will be able to see and shoot out the door or window.
Anyways that's all I can think of for now.

Re: Tommygun does what with paper?

I have the stairs done. They came out well. I used treads that are 1 1/4 inch (31.8mm) deep and at least that wide.
By the way, my doors are also 2 inches (50mm) wide.
I have also started on the drawings.
    More pictures later too.

    New windows.

Now I need to do clean up work and cover edges.
I'm thinking of painting these guy instead of using paper to cover them?

Here is a pdf of the measurements and assembly guide:

Looks sharp. Reminds me of some apartments back in my college days. Two bedroom units on the bottom floor. Singles on the top floor. Each block would have two units side-by-side on each side of an open-air hall/stair area. So there were four units in a building on the ground floor and four smaller units above those. An extended version of this unit for the bottom floor, with the current version on top of that, multiplied by four of those combinations would pretty much have it. We jokingly called the place the ziggarats, because of the almost pyramidal look to the place.

Fantastic resource Tommygun, your contributions are muchly appreciated by the community!
Yeah, we flew our space church across 500 light years to get to this planet taken over by the orks. Now we're going to drop from orbit in buckets and run out and shoot pistols and hit people in the head with chainsaws. Ultramarines!

Like the slit windows, wondering if you could get away with only have a single removable wall?

Re: Tommygun does what with paper?

    Well thanks guys.

After building it, I think you can get by with only the back wall removable.
In fact unless you can find 1/4 inch foam core, I wouldn't try to do it with two removable walls.
I recently loss my supplier of cheap 1/4 inch foam board, so this may be one of my last foam board buildings.
3/8 inch just warps too much for me and I can get plasticard from US plastic several times cheaper than at a store even with shipping.

Have you had a look at MDF wood prices, not as light or easy to cut but it would last forever!!

I like to work in the evens and in front of the TV.
Using power tools in the TV room may be frown on by company.
My neighbors may also object to the noise during a midnight session.
Plasticard is just a fast material to work with in the long run.
Even faster than form core, at least for me, if you count the time I spend edging the foam core.
