I like using my Type B road wheels with the Liberator Pattern 1.0 tracks because the wheels are a little larger in diameter and thus work better with the slightly longer tread.
    Cool Thanks!

Re: Don't Tread on Me: Tank Tracks for Super-heavies and War Machines

So it been a while since I've updated this thread but you'll be happy to know I have a few new additions incoming

First up, I've wanted to add a couple of new tires to my store but I knew there was no way I could do a uniform set of tire treads by hand. Luckily I found another option!

I started working with a 3-D designer earlier this year and he was telling me about some of the CAD drawings he's had printed using a 3-D printer. While still expensive the quality of the work they are able to do now is quite extraordinary.

So I set about designing a couple of tires using a 2-D drawing program, which I gave to him to render in 3-D. We then sent the designs off to a company called Shapeway and a few weeks later these arrived:

As you can see I've already started the process of casting them up. Once I have 8 or 10 done I'll create the production mold and get them in the store.

The larger tire is 1 inch in diameter and about 3/8 wide, the smaller is 5/8 in diameter and a bit more than 1/4 inch wide.

you just discovered shapeway? fun isn't it?

I now expect devotional tracks with the imperial creed embossed for treads...

So whats the news on the new tire wheels? I'm thinking of starting a small guard tank and I wanted to make it road wheel driven instead.

Dont suppose you have any oldskool liberators lying around still... You mentioned you had a bunch of spares in the thread but that post was oooold... Since the new skool is slightly bland for my tastes if not, thats cool i'll just rip you off (assuming you wont set me on fire with flaming mind bullets) and build them myself if required

Kind regards and keep up the good work, One recently converted scratch building nut job

Well it's been a while since I've updated this thread but I have news on some old favorites. It's been years since I've made the Liberator Pattern 1.0 and 0 treads and I finally decided to go back and make them better. The Pattern 1.0s were kind of hard to work with as their hinge wasn't quite right for going around smaller road wheels and the Pattern 0 always lacked a little detail. Plus we were missing a Pattern 00, Well, no more:

    Pattern 1.0s:

    Pattern 0s:

    and finally the Pattern 00s:

The preproduction mold is now done so I'm in the process of casting up enough for the production molds. Hopefully these will be ready for sale next week.

Well I've been working on a couple of dozer blade sets as part of a commission. The masters are now done and I plan to start the molds tonight. The mount is 1.4 inches wide and is vertically adjustable from about 0.25 inches up to 0.5 inches making it usable on just about any medium sized tracked vehicle.

With any luck I'll have these up this weekend and if they do well I may expand the line to include a Large and Huge size in the same configuration.

I am such a fan of this type of alternate parts and weapons... and bikes... you have such awesome bikes!

I find with this hobby, patience pays off a lot. Maybe wait to build that new kit because something just might come along in a few months that will help turn a generic kit into a centerpiece!

Re: Don't Tread on Me: Tank Tracks for Super-heavies and War Machines

Really loving this stuff for customizing the big tanks! Any chance of a more bubble style turret for superheavies, ala the new Fellblade turret? I see the Kingslayer Artillery Cannons will work perfect for this purpose, but I really like the way the FW model's turret harkens back to the first Predator tank.

Also, anyone tried any of these bits (specifically treads and main turrets) on the old Armorcast Baneblade chassis?

I'm definitely tempted by those dozer blades. Any chance you will be doing a split variant for Land Raiders?

Btw, finally posted pictures of my Renegade Shadowsword using your tracks. They make the vehicle look sooo much better.

Re: Don't Tread on Me: Tank Tracks for Super-heavies and War Machines

Hiya, I currently have a Salamanders company, and am in the process of making a couple of tanks for them. One being a customised Landraider, for which I will buy some liberator tracks for when I have the spare cash again, and a baneblade conversion. That will end up being like a Fellblade, but not with the same weapons. My question is, how many type B chancellor wheels do you think I'll need for the said super heavy? The model is stripped and wheelless right now and waiting bits...
