One of those great threads I always wondered what happened to, awesome work on the griffon (and everything else) .. great choice of colours, the bright tones work well with the more neutral and the unified colour scheme across the board is gonna make this an especially striking army. Look forward to some group shots... plus now counting the days till I can paint that griffon myself

Finally! It's awesome you're back in action dude and the Griffon is looking marvellous!
If worst comes to worse and you need new wings, the plastic pegasus wings are available as a bits pack from the GW website. They might make a serviceable replacement.

Your griffon is what the new model should have been! It's incredible!

It's an Olympus FE-190, only 6 megapixel. The trick is to use Photoshop to auto-correct the levels, usually this makes the colours come out close to how they look IRL. It does tend to look a bit grainy though.

I swear, you do this just because you want me to paint up some of those units Seriously though, were did you look for that information? I could need a good read about the best empire province ever!

Great idea, though I will probably pick up a new griffon from e-bay, they usually don't go fro much more than the pegasi wings from GW!

New pics! You know I love priests of Sigmar, and have made several (although similiar) conversions; now GW finally made a version that I like, and so I had to paint it up. I will add som weathering to the lower part of the robes, just waiting for my MIG pigments to arrive.

Haha yes! I knew you couldn't stay with those sissy Eldar for more than 5 seconds! The Griffon is, IMHO, the best model you've ever painted, I'm sorry to hear you having trouble with the feathers, but considering the quality of the feathers you've painted so far I can certinally see why. The Warrior Priest is top notch as well, when I saw that model I instantly thought of your WP's, I'm willing to bet a fair bit of money that's where the sculptor got the inspiration form. Where is that beastmen head from BTW?

Oh and one last thing, some of us are trying to get into Bretonnia over here, do you mind being so damm inspiring. I'm desperately trying not to start a army including the best Warhammer Character in history. (The Mad Count)

nownow, my good man. if that were the case then i'd say that wissenland was known for its witch hunters and general mordheim-ness, would i not?

    the priest is magnificent

Certainly. Paint with Tamaya Clear Red, let it dry for about 30 seconds or so until it gets a bit gooey, then press a stipple brush lightly and randomly on the painted area to create a bit of texture. Let it dry completely. Repeat, but this time wit a very, very tiny amount of GW Chaos Black mixed in, and apply much more sparingly

The eldar WILL be painted though. Some day. Or another day ;.)
The beastman head is from the previous boxo of Gors/Ungors (Don't know if the heads have changed in the recent version? Don't have any of those).

Anyway, I'm shopping for a new pair of wings for the griffon, so if anyone is willing to sell me a pair (or even the whole griffin kit), send me a PM. But I need to find a pair real fast, I'm planning to enter the model in a local painting competition in three weeks. Luckily, I'm unemployed atm, so will manage to squeze in plenty of painting hours in the near future

Thanks for the reply, I figured you were going to say the old box, it was vastly superior to the new one IMO.

Good to have you back and working on your empire. Warrior priest and General both look great.
Can we expect a little more Wissenland in the near future, or will you be dedicating yourself to your eldar?

Great painting on that warrior priest! I for one think your conversions rival this new sculpt!!

That General on Gryphon is awesome! Such a sexy model! The Warrior Priest is great, too. The brown of his robes looks really good! You continue to be a source of inspiration, many thanks!

Mind if I be a bit cheeky and ask how you painted the front (bird) feet of the griffin? that's exactly the yellow I've been looking for.

    Re: Empire: Wissenland

Great work on that WP. Did you cut off a piece of the base for that skull slope? Looks cool, the base in general gives the model a very dynamic appearance.

If you want to read up on Wissenland; For superficial information you can always check the Lexicanum, if you speak German and/or French that's helpful too, cause the articles aren't just translations, mostly they'll have more (or less) or just different information.
Apart from that owning the Warhammer roleplay sourcebooks probably helps.
