    Spot on! You did a terrific job on the Gryphon (corrected spelling)! I have the same model lying around with the same idea in my head (minus the awesome barding for which I lack the skill)...

    About the shield, I always find that it helps tying the model to the rest of the army, however, it's your choice.

    Very nice base! It completes the model! Very good job!

    That model's majestic! He also looks dynamic, diving over that ruined wall like that. Leave the shield off, It'll just obscure some of the General's details.

    I vote shield as well, perhaps slung over the back or shoulder? unless their are plans for a cape billow?

    Class. Pure Class! Thats how an Empire General should ride a griffon. Personaly I dont think it needs the shield. Its Ace that mate keep up the good work.

    That is indeed a stunning model, I can't wait to see it finished, as for the shield I would say leave it, as I think you'd struggle to place it without upsetting the rest of the model.

    No shield needed for this hero! Excellent conversion work, I can't wait to see some paint slapped on him.

    I'll go against the grain and say, yeah, go for the shield. I don't think it's necessary, but it will give a nice surface to hit with an accent color, or better yet some freehand.
