Just don't set the hounds on me!!

It's coming to the end of the month for the tale of 40k painters tale and here are the fruits of my labour so far, I've managed to finish one Pretorian Infantry Squad and the second is still on the painting table, although they should be finished in time for March.

I've also found the time to paint up the spare weapons that you get with the Venerable Dreadnought kit - this means that my two plastic Furioso Dreadnoughts can now sport a Plasma Cannon, Assault Cannon, Lascannon or even Hurricane Bolters (Which will be used as a counts as) if they fancy it.

Anyway, without further ado, pics ahoy!!!

Thanks for looking guys, hopefully I'll have the second Infantry Squad up on the plog before the end of the week.

The Pretorian contingent works really well. I wondered how they'd look as a unit alongside your other pieces but they fit nicely with the scheme of things! The work on the dreads looks brilliant and I reckon will pay dividends in games!!

    A good months work!

The dreads look nice fella and the Praetorians are nice development. Good choice of colour scheme for a complimentary aesthetic too. It's always nice to have a visual tie between allied forces.

    Thanks MN and Petay.

I'm glad that you like the aesthetic of the Pretorians and the Guard in general, I did a lot of thinking before brush was put to model with regards to the look of the force as a whole and how they'd look as an allied force to my Angels.

The second Infantry squad is coming along nicely, I'm on a course for work this week so I've got my evenings free and hopefully I'll get them finished by the end of the week.

As for next month, there'll be a return to my Angels along with (if I get the time) an Elysian heavy weapon squad.

Both the IG and BA's look great, you have done a great job on these models, all models should be so lucky to look so good.
The enemies of the Emperor fear many things.
They fear discovery, defeat, despair and death.

Yet there is one thing they fear above all others.

They fear the wrath of the Blood Angels!

I have to say that I don't like space-marines in general but yours are very well painted. I like the red and the battle damages

But for the IG part ... I love those minis since I saw Col. Gravis plog here on warseer ! Yours are great too, this "men in black" style is very efficient !

Thanks Tom, your wish is my command, I'm sure you'll be pleased at the end of March when I present some Blood Angels to you.

Thanks svinkelz, I'm glad you like the Guard, I've wanted to redo my Pretorians for years but have only recently had the idea to do them in this colour scheme. Glad you like the Angels too

    Re: Punkfish's BA 5th Company

Hey guys, I've taken a break from Guard this month to paint some Blood Angels - Here's my recent works, a Heavy Bolter Armed Razorback and Mk3 armoured Sternguard Veteran squad.

I need to add some battle damage to the R'back and some company markings to the shoulder armour of the Sternguard, but to all intents and purposes, they are finished.

WIP pics and finished pics below, thanks for reading as always and I hope you approve. Comments and critic welcomed as ever.

Typical even in the 41st century you leave your motor in the wrong place and someone nicks the tracks!!

On a serious note, that's a neat looking squad and transport pal! Definitely a case of Marines on a mission!

Cheers Pete, I left it parked up for five minutes and some bloody Ork has had the tracks away. I blame you!

Thanks dude, my paint fu does wax and wane with the seasons and I generally have to have a goal - these were done for a painting challenge over on the Bolter and Chainsword forums.

Thanks mate, when I saw them, I thought they'd look nice in Blood Angels livery.

Thanks! That's one of the reasons I decided to do them, I think that the armour would appeal to those in the Blood Angels who like to get up close and personal with their enemies and it has a brutal aesthetic that fits with a close assault army.

Thanks buddy. Nice to see you back.

As well as the BA, I've found the time to paint a couple of Guard Characters this month too. The first 2 are Commissars that will be attached to the Pretorian Infantry squads and the last model is the FW limited edition Thunderbolt Pilot. He'll be used in my army as an Officer of the Fleet. I felt it quite fitting since the army includes quite a few Elysians.

Anyhow, without further ado, here's the pics.

    Cheers for reading guys!
