Re: Forces of Warmachine: Books and New Models

While most of the warjacks that accompany Rhulic mercenaries into battle were designed with industrial uses as well as military service in mind, the Avalancher is a dedicated combat machine. The warjack bears the intimidating Avalanche Cannon, a weapon capable of obliterating man and mechanika alike from a tremendous range. A dedicated mobile artillery platform, the warjack’s huge Avalanche Cannon grants Rhulic forces excellent battlefield control as it fires powerful shells that detonate on impact, devastating the surrounding area.
    That's the Avalancher above.

    And Miss Corbeau is below:

    http://privateerpress.com/warmachine...adelyn-corbeau

The court of King Baird Cathor II of Ord is known for its subtle intrigues and stunning courtesans. Madelyn Corbeau may not have been the most beautiful woman to grace the Bandit King’s court, but she is certainly the most brilliant intriguer to enter his service. Having charmed half the courtiers in western Immoren, it is simple enough for her to gain access to the commanders of armies. She sells her services as an adviser to any army with coin. No matter which army she accompanies, her loyalties remain firmly with the Baird, and she passes her intelligence on to the King’s spies whenever possible. Madelyn may be the most formidable asset in the Bandit King’s struggle to keep his nation independent of his hungry neighbors.
Madelyn Corbeau will work for Cygnar, Protectorate, Khador, Cryx, Retribution, or Mercenaries.

    It happens

Crazy Rhulfolk are getting some pretty solid machines...I wonder if the other contracts are getting fanciful new 'jacks as well, especially since we've seen so many solos and such for Mk. II Mercs already.

Seems that PP are looking to give the dwarfs a faction of their own (well basically) with all these new additions.

The Rhul don't want people to jump on the bandwagon. We'll stay nice and exclusive

4 Heavy jacks now woohoo. Though based on this we could get a plastic jack - Driller, Avalancher and Rockram all on the same chassis.

I'm liking the new Rhulic Jack. As for Miss Corbeau, what do you think her role will be? Is the Mk 2 book available for sale in the UK yet?

Re: Forces of Warmachine: Books and New Models

Corbeau brings a little toolbox of abilities.

From Demeritus over at the PP forums:

Her stat line is not terribly impressive tbh, she has a Menite Zealot statline only with +2 def and +1cmd. She costs as much as a Mage Hunter Assassin.

Advisor: While in b2b with this model, friendly warcasters and solos gain +1 cmd.

Intrigue: If one or more enemy models are in this models command range during your Maintenance Phase, one friendly warrior model in this models command range can advance up to 3".

    Seduction: look up epic Deneghra

Sucker!: think of Sacrificial Pawn from Terminus, only with a 2" range as opposed to 3".

Re: Forces of Warmachine: Books and New Models

Lots of new stuff today. Good Lord.

    Okay, kiddies, here we go:

    Greylord Escort - Doomreaver UA

Only the most courageous of Greylords are chosen to accompany the barbarous Doom Reavers into battle. These escorts are invariably experts in the field of Orgoth studies as well as formidable arcanists. Moving amidst the Doom Reavers like a handler of vicious beasts, the Greylord carries a staff of Orgoth origin. His will is exerted through this dark artifact, restraining the Doomreavers from murdering one another when they rip into the enemy. He channels that rage to provide a necromantic imperviousness to the effects of injuries. Gaping wounds close of their own accord as the Orgoth weapons chatter obscenely amongst themselves.
    http://privateerpress.com/warmachine...-doomreaver-ua

    Fane Knight Skeryth - Dragoon

Fane Knights are soldiers who have answered a divine calling and feel chosen to pledge their lives to the defense of Scyrah. They have vowed to protect both the fane and the goddess to their last heartbeat. Despite the warnings of his priests and superiors, he has turned to the Retribution for answers. Skeryth longs for battle and increasingly rests his hopes on the Retribution’s claim that fighting humanity will provide relief to the goddess.
    http://privateerpress.com/warmachine...skeryth-issyen

Bane Thrall Officer and Standard Bearer -
    Bane Thrall UA

Rune-bound captains lead the blasphemous bane thralls onto the battlefield to slaughter for their own vicious pleasure. Only the most hateful and malevolent of spirits are chosen to lead the banes into battle. Pulled from eternal torment in the abyss of Urcaen they remember little of their former lives, but what memories they retain grant them a consuming hatred for all life. The night-shrouded legions follow their officers in near silence, obscured by the darkness that clings to them. Out of this nightmarish shadow they raise ancient standards, mockeries of the kingdoms and causes they once fought for as mortal men.
    http://privateerpress.com/warmachine...tandard-bearer

    Satyxis Blood Witches - Unit

The sadism of the Satyxis is a legend among those who sail the waters of the Broken Coast. But even among the depraved Satyxis are a few whose appetites for atrocity are greater than their sisters. The Blood Witches work their dark magic through blighted ritual blades known as Blood Razors. Those who fall to a Blood Witch’s knife may be burst into a lingering crimson mist or have their vitality turned against their fellows in a lash of psychical death energy.
    http://privateerpress.com/warmachine...-blood-witches

So...a Khadoran UA, the Retribution's character Dragoon, a Cryxian UA, and the apparent Cryxian version of Bloodweavers. Not bad offerings - the UAs bore me, but Skeryth is rather nice and the Witches seem pretty quality - if not a bit unoriginal.

I really like all those new models especially the UA's for the Bane Thralls. However $28us for just those two models seems a little steep. I may just convert two out of the regular models I have.
    thanks for the post.

Re: Forces of Warmachine: Books and New Models

Whoa! Thats a lot of new minis...

The Satyxis are really nice. Could we have a re-rescult of the Raiders, please? On the other hand, that would mean I'd have to start that Satyxis/Skarre force I've always wanted to do, but never did because of the ***** Satyxis and Skarre sculpts......

The Fane Knight is a let-down. The horse seem nice enough, but Skerryth himself looks clumsy and static- especially on foot. Iosans have weird helmets, but that spike just looks dorky That's one mini that won't grace my Retribution force...

The Greylord is OK. Nothing spectacular IMHO.

I'm a bit torn about the Bane Thralls. It looks nice, but that Captain somehow irks me. I don't know, it's as if the proportions are bit off.

Re: Forces of Warmachine: Books and New Models

I have to agree mostly with Hrafn. The Satyxis look good, but nothing spectacular. The Retribution Dragoon is too static for my liking. This is a shame since usually PP's Dragoon models are outstanding, and I also really like the concept art, just the model lets it down. The Greylord UA is boring, but works for what it is. The Bane Trall UA threw me for a loop. I really like the Bane Thrall models, so I was wanting to like these. I do like the Standard Bearer, but the Captain looks horrible. The proportions are off and what the hell is wrong with his face/head?

I like the fact that they put a wash on the miniatures to bring out the detail.

It's something I wished Games Workshop would do for the metal miniatures they showed off at Games Day, back when they had more than ONE on this side of the planet...

Re: Forces of Warmachine: Books and New Models

The models are not bad, apart from that Band Thrawl Captain. The head just looks very odd, almost cartoony. Shame really as it spoils an otherwise good set of releases. Now where are the retribution ;P?
