Re: Forces of Warmachine: Books and New Models

I think they missed the boat when it came down to the Hordes Minions Mr Hugglesworth (aka the Swamp Horror), that could have been made into a "colossal with the main head half submerged and a series of based tentacles that moves independently but not to far away it looks wierd.

I was speaking to a friend earlier about it and i was saying "would it have been better for them to go back and "fix" thier mistakes from the past first , ie the bad and odd sized models, like half the Legion infantry.

They look very nice and will be interesting to see the new rules for them including the 2 new power attacks mentioned

Speaking as a Gator player, its driving me insane that I don't have a battle engine and will more than likely miss out on a Colossus too. Do I sell what I have and go Legion?

Since I don't think Mercs will be getting 2 Collosals (Searforge would need its own, and I don't think they would arm it with a trident), I'm sure the Minions one will be shared between Gators and Pigs.

I cannot wait - I must have watched the Colossus video at least 50 times. PP preview videos are so professional - a million times better than the c**p GW puts on Youtube.

Re: Forces of Warmachine: Books and New Models

Man, I was kind of hoping someone else would do all of these this time - PP just dumped tons of new links. Okay, here we go:

    Desecrator/Leviathan/Harrower

    http://privateerpress.com/warmachine...cks/desecrator
    http://privateerpress.com/warmachine...acks/leviathan
    http://privateerpress.com/warmachine...jacks/harrower

The silent tide conceals the inexorable advance of amphibious helljacks beneath the waves. Equipped with watertight furnaces, these terrible machines emerge from the depths to sow destruction on a horrific scale. The Leviathan leads the charge with its terrifying rapid-fire cannon, fueled by excess steam from its necrotite furnace. The Harrower cuts through horrified soldiers with its enormous claw, while its cannon fires incorporeal shells that pass through solid obstacles to impact its intended target in a necromantic conflagration. The Desecrator uses its alchemically charged cannon to spray corrosive fluid across a wide area while its whirring vivisector minces through flesh and steel at the murderous behest of Cryx’s generals.

Hordes Plastic Battlegroups (Same content as before, newest (but not brand new) warlock sculpts)
    Trollbloods - http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gal...ds-battlegroup
    Legion - http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gal...ht-battlegroup

    Skorne - http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gal...ne-battlegroup

    Cyclops Raider

    http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gal...cyclops-raider

The cyclops raider is a terrifying sight—an eight-foot-tall brute capable of unleashing torrents of razor-sharp steel. The few who survive the excruciating hail of the raider’s heavy reiver are dispatched by crushing blows of its spiked gauntlets. The raider’s proficiency at arms is greatly enhanced by its natural prescient abilities. It can train its weapon on even the best-hidden enemies and annihilate them in a burst of fire before they have time to react.

    Titan Gladiator/Cannoneer/Sentry

    http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gal...itan-gladiator
    http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gal...itan-cannoneer
    http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gal...s/titan-sentry

Favored warbeasts of the skorne, the versatile titans can be conditioned and equipped for a variety of battlefield roles. The titan gladiator is armed with massive spiked war gauntlets and uses its weapons and its armored body to pulverize enemy troops and warbeasts. The titan cannoneer is a mobile siege engine, blasting apart enemy formations with its gargantuan siege cannon. Finally, the titan sentry is a living wall, immovable and nearly impervious to enemy attacks behind its heavy shield and thick armor.

Wonky? I don't see any reason to change it.

Re: Forces of Warmachine: Books and New Models

Again, plastic warbeasts that look less good than the metal ones (IMO):
_ The axer is static as a royal guard in front of Buckingham Palace and looses the agressive, punchy, look he had.
_ The Impaler looks simple minded.

I started the Trollblood based on the look of their warbeasts. When I look at the heavy plastic kit and now this crapastic warpack, I'm glad I started Hordes a while ago, when they still knew how to make minis.

The Circle warpack is better however, although I'm still not found of the plastic Feral.

Seems like most players prefer the new plastic sets, but personally I like the old metal models better..

Putting together some of the metals was a lesson in rage - I'm relatively surprised a red power ring didn't show up to claim me while assembling Skorne Cyclops Savages. I assume the plastics will be easier due to the tendency of Privateer plastic to be quite light and malleable when necessary.

Skorne has little noticable difference in the two battleboxes, though the Savages look beefier, otherwise there's not a lot of style change.
Legion might as well be the metal battlebox with a new Lylyth - it's like they just poured plastic in the metal molds
Circle has a hell of a shift - the Feral is effectively a new beast and the lights seem heftier.
Trollbloods...heh...I didn't like them before and I like the plastics less than the metals *shrugs*

Am I blind or do PP never announce release dates with their previews? Anyone know when this latest set of releases will be out?

Not yet. They tend to show the previews ahead of the release schedule they will be part of.
