Hear, hear! Though I'd say completely uninspired rather than silly. I mean, It's a big metal robot powered by tortured souls..where have I seen that concept before?! Even the description in the book is extremely bland - the writers couldn't even come up with an interesting back story for the thing...

I think it's quite a good model. Good rendition of the artwork. Though the priest and the dais seem a bit squashed.

That menoth engine has some quite cool details, especially the brand stamped into 'roid rage's back.

    Master Ascetic Naaresh

    http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gal...scetic-naaresh

A warrior-philosopher who seeks enlightenment through his own extreme suffering, Master Ascetic Naaresh has unlocked the powers of pain and forged them into a unique and devastating fighting style. Eager to challenge the limits of his philosophy against new foes, Naaresh has left his isolation to seek battle in the west. Before each engagement he submits to the ministrations of his paingivers so that he may draw strength and skill from the agony.

Nice description. He looks fittingly uncomfortable. That face...oy.

Thats my main hesitation with them, though its better than rules matching the cost. I definitely like the fact that they aren't must-haves to be competitive. I'm toying with ordering the Stormstrider- I can definitely see ways to use it, but I'm not entirely sold on it, even with a 20% discount. Definitely wouldn't buy it full price.

Weird weapons on Naaresh. They almost look like clippers, but the way his hands fit, I don't think they actually open.

    Looking forward to seeing Kallus

I like his model, at least it's not bland like most of the other Skorne Warlocks.

Naaresh is cool. Concept and mini rocks. Seems like PP is getting really creative with Skorne Warlock concepts; first Rasheth (sp?) and now Naaresh

Looking good, I have a feeling that's going to be the best of the Hordes Battle Engines.

    Grayle the Farstrider

    http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gal...the-farstrider

A powerful scion of a family with deep roots in the ancient lines of the Wolves of Orboros, Grayle the Farstrider was trained as a Wolf until he experienced the wilding. As a druid, he has proven his worth and skill as a trusted strike force leader and an unrelenting warrior who simply does not know failure. In battle Grayle embodies the wolf and moves from target to target with vicious speed and efficiency like a predator in human form whose blades strike with the feral precision of a hunting beast.

I like his weapons. That's about it, though...he's a bit dull otherwise.

    ---------

    Maelok the Dreadbound

    http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gal...the-dreadbound

The gatorman warlock known as Maelok the Dreadbound exists in a torturous state of undeath as an animated corpse bound to the will of another. Despite his decaying physical form, Maelok is still a mighty bokur who can return slain allies to life, steal the souls of the living, or connect to the spirit world to transform his army temporarily into ghostly horrors unimpeded by flesh, stone, or steel.

There we go - now that's a warlock. Creepy and weird with a fun description - gators look better all the time.

Maelok is amazing, Mr. Druid is about as boring as I was expecting him to be (Circle tends to have very boring Warlocks).

i know everybodys seen her but i put her up any way

Astride her horrifying skeletal steed, the infamous Alexia Ciannor reaps the souls of her enemies with the hell-forged blade Witchfire. The dark sorceress can raise an army of terrifying thrall warriors from the grave and rides alongside them as she lays about her with her sword, leaving nothing but ashes where she strikes

Re: Forces of Warmachine: Books and New Models

Wow, that's alot of new stuff

Celestial Fulcrum looking good. Not that unexpected, since the art looked pretty easily translatable to miniature.

Grayle looks severely unspectacular. As sucha good mini (would make a fine Solo), but too bland for a Warlock imho. On another note, I have to disagree with ICLRK625; Cassius and Kromac are very far from boring IMO.

Maelok is very good indeed. Concept and sculpt is ace. If I ever came around to collect a Blindwater force, Maelok would be a must-have for Warlock.

Alexia is very nice too. Good dynamic sculpt of both horse and Alexia, but Alexia especially looks good.

Cassius and Kromac are the exceptions, not the rules, compare them to the other 6 or 7 Warlocks, (Kaya, Krueger, Baldur, Morvana, Morhsair, etc.) and they're all boring.

So Alexia is rather nice, is she a standard release?
