Definitly sounds like the character UA's turn a merc unit into a friendly faction unit. Hopefully as Edonil says they can't attach to a character unit. They're probably meant for the likes of steelheads to give them a slight boost.

Not quite. We've had character UAs before Wrath - notably Mr. Walls. We've also seen a character UA for each of the Big Four Hordes factions in their Forces books - Vorkesh, Skaldi, Nuala, and Bayal.
The new type of UA for Wrath appears to be the Faction UA for Mercenary units. It would also appear that, while Khador and Cygnar require characters for this, the Protectorate just has a random priest take care of it.
Speaking of that priest, I sort of hope that the fluff text is not as transparent as it seems...Blessed, Pathfinder, and Spell Ward? That has the potential to be...very scary.
I like the idea of the new UA making a Merc unit function as a faction unit - really liking the thought of Ogrun Assault Corps lead by Murdoch working for Cygnar.

Two additions today:
Captain Jonas Murdoch
http://privateerpress.com/warmachine...onas-murdoch-0
Jonas Murdoch is a tough-as-nails trencher captain who can take even the worst mercenary scum and whip them into soldiers any Cygnaran officer would be proud to lead. Under his command, a mercenary unit functions as part of the army of Cygnar.
Tyrant Vorkesh
http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gal...tyrant-vorkesh
The very epitome of cataphract stoicism, strength, and martial prowess, Tyrant Vorkesh is veritable juggernaut of armored destruction. As Vorkesh cleaves through enemy after enemy, his deadly accuracy with his weapon, the Arm of Rahal, inspires the cataphracts around him to strike with the utmost skill and precision, while his sheer force of will shields them from enemy magic.
They're okay I guess. Murdoch's gun reminds me of an Inferno Pistol from 40k for some reason. Vorkesh is certainly stoic and has an odd weapon as well.
Nice it's Clint Eastwood in the iron kingdoms... Give him a stogie!
Don't like Skorne so meh on the other guy...
What is with the Cygnar guy's right arm? Is he wearing marigolds?

Liking Jonas. I must not buy more Cygnar stuff.

I quite like Vorkesh, his detail is pretty high and those Spaulders are very nice, reminds me of something out of WoW. Only problem with the model is the weird weapon an lack of definition on the face. The weapon would look fine if lost the top crescent.
Jonas looks quite like anticipated, ie. mean, old trencher! Nice mini with character and good pose, though his gun looks a little weird.
Vorkesh, on the hand, is extremely average. Uninspiring pose, weird weapon and very uncharacterful fae. Big Meh!
Another two great models from PP!
My common sense is tingling!
Artwork for Thyra, Flame of Sorrow by Andrea Uderzo.

A Protectorate 'caster with an exposed face. Surprising.
I think it is awesome! The artwork is lovely. Isn't she a daughter of the Flame type caster and they have open faces too don't they?
Wow, that's even more boring than I expected. She's a halfway between Feora and a Daughter of the Flame, extremely disappointing.
If i remember correctly (just started work so most probably wrong) isnt she feora's right hand woman?
I like the idea of a daughter of the flame in warcaster armour. I think its done well as I do like all the artwork I just hope the model is nice as well

Wasn't excited by this from the beginning. I think it'll just end up looking like a solo, nice artwork though. I'm just not that interested in a daughter of the flame warcaster.
I like most of the Portectorate stuff and almost all of the Iron kingdoms stuff in general, but I don't like where the new Warcaster is going. It is too much of a Daughters tie-in than anything else. Even new Scrutators or something remotely tied to the Paladins would have been better.
With regards,
Dan.
If the new caster adds a new playstyle option to the force I'll be happy. I don't like the idea of adding a caster for addings sake.
I don't like the Protectorate aestethic and I don't like their weird hats. However, I do like the Sisters of the Flame...so in other words, I like Thyra a lot![]()
