I've only seen pieces of the art, I believe on one of the old insider articles. It looked like a mine cart and probably had a cannon on it. I seem to remember I spyglass, like the ones some of the pygmys carry.

For those who missed or want a refresh!

I'm not massive fan of the Skorne BE, looking at that art. Looks awkward.

None of the works of the Circle Orboros better demonstrates their mastery of the natural world than the Celestial Fulcrum, an enormous arcane apparatus that precisely models the seasons and the orbits of Caen’s moons. Able to harness the primal tides of nature, the Fulcrum can unleash lightning, fire, and deathly winds, plunging the fairest summer day into the heart of the maelstrom.

now thats nice it's a shame i sold my circle

Representing battlefield commodities such as warjack parts, ammo cache, and food stores, these resin objective markers add style and panache to your gaming table and scenarios.

dont reaaly see the need for these when pp are struggling with other things

for some reasom warseer wont let me put a pic up off the makers

The markers are specifically for Steamroller events. Makes it easier to run them with those fitting some of the scenarios.

That fulcrum is kinda cool looking.

The Fulcrum is very nice indeed. IMHO, it competes only with the Storm Strider for the best War Engine yet..

Heres hoping it copies the stormstrider in rules too, so it not only looks good, it plays well!

Obviously not an exact copy, but something a bit more useful than the Cryx smokemachine, and Khador ponywagon.

I'm not sold on the battle engines competitively, but they are pretty sweet models.

So far I've seen the Khador one used very effectively.

Re: Forces of Warmachine: Books and New Models

The Fulcrum is nice - it was already winning in terms of concepts for Hordes. I dread the coming of the Throne of Everblight...

I'd put the Fulcrum in the same spot as the Retribution Engine - both fit their respective force in a suitably alien way. I still adore the Protectorate Engine, though that's likely my faction bias showing through

On a somewhat related note, has anyone seen GW's Dreadfleet? I can't help but think that the Black Kraken in that game is what the Cryx Engine should have been *sigh*

I'm pretty sure the "mechanical squid" concept was around long before that as well

I was just pointing out that in style and color choice, the Black Kraken instantly made me think "Cryx" - the DW Squidbot didn't.

Lol, I'm sorry, GW must have killed your puppy I didn't mean to derail this - I just thought the Black Kraken looked exceptionally Cryx-y as opposed to the Ika (which, even painted black and green, would have lacked the right combination of curves, sharpness, and mechanical bits to pull off the Cryxian look).

I meant it as a commentary of the Wraith Engine, really - that thing (as has been mentioned by more than just me) is just an oversized helljack on a spindly tail. Something more akin to either of the krakens would have been more intriguing in my opinion - especially the Black Kraken, with it's belching exhausts, melee tentacles, and engine-shielding carapace. The Blazing Sun bot just doesn't have the same oomph for my tastes (plus I prefer the Prussian bot in that game).

In short, the Cryxian Engine was a missed opportunity, and I get the feeling that the remaining Hordes Engines may share the same fate if they're not careful. The Skorne and Legion ones especially run the risk of "Giant Warbeast with Troops", which is not really what I'd consider a "win" in this unit type.

I think you took my comment a little seriously there.

I'll avoid commenting on Dread Fleet past the fact I'm not buying it having bought 2 copies of Space Hulk.

I quite like the Wraith Engine. As opposed to using the Kraken motif which I think might have looked a little silly on a land based creature.

The past has passed, so I can't say much on the Wraith Engine other than it's a bit dull. As to aquatic styles on land units...well, there are plenty of amphibious units, pirates, and swamp creatures littering the setting to not worry much about that.

If I ever both to get a Wraith Engine, the thing's getting a redone head and "arms" to avoid looking like an uber-jack. It'll probably end up with a lot of cable and cloth extensions and something a bit more horrible for a face...sadly, it'd be a lot of work for something I'd find suitably nightmarish

Amusingly, I believe there is an actual living octopus monster coming out as a Blindwater warbeast.

Here's the link to the Swamp Horror Art. I suspect that this is going to be an infanttry killer.
