A halfling in full plate is a good idea actually! But don't worry, this guy will look, relatively, hard as nails Thanks for the offer on colouring mate, but I've tried to add colour to the "normal" pages of the rulebook and it just doesnt work... so I've hadto revert some of my colour artworks into black and white! I don't know why I bother :P
Ahah, sorry about that, I only asked her because she likes wood elves and actually bought a box of dryads I understand how annoying sculpting feathers can be, it was already a pain for me to just sculpt the scales of my chaos dwarf armors No problem for the pic coloring, just let me know if you change your mind

I love the treeman (and his feet) I think you have done a great job on him so far! The only thing that 'bothers' me about it is his hands as they are a bit uninteresting atm. I'm sure you have some great ideas in store and who know I might get one of these when it is done cheers mate, keep it up

Digging the treeman as well warp, it all just adds up for me (feet also included). Its really impressive how every one of your sculpts just radiates so much style and originality. You are one talented git!

I love the feet, One Talented Git. (Can we make that your official forum title?) I agree that all the other rooted Treemen make putting roots on your unnecessary. I'm not too keen on the hands, though. Something about the length of the fingers and their shape, they're too rounded. I think of giants having big, crackly knuckles.

I really like the removable beard option! Can't wait to see how the willow turns out.

The fingers are obviously work in progress, people They're just greenstuff sausages, I thought that was blatant no? That being said, I think open hands would be better.

It is a tree man truly different and original. The beard made of leaves is magnificent. I'm starting to use putty on my thumbnails and this work has inspired me. Thank you very much.

Re: The Host of the Feathered Serpent - Lizzie Blog + Other bits i fancy doing...

    Hey guys!

Wow... I can't beleive it's been almost 2 weeks since I last posted... sorry about that! I've spent these last few days working on finishing my Art Project - "The Art of Arcworlde", and now it's done - Hurrah! After I finished that on Monday, I've been working on some models for a client who didn't want them to be shown, and then I ran out of greenstuff Boo Hoo!

Urgat - All sorted now =D And don't worry about it! It's amazing that you've got your girlfriend to get into hobbying! No luck with mine quite yet... but I'm working on it She's already said that she wants to help me playtest ArcWorlde, so we are gonna have some games when I have the new Haflings painted :] Those hands are indeed WIPs, and I know it was a bit of a cop-out doing closed fists :P I'll probably re-do them when I get around to working on it again. My big models seem to go through cycles of interest, then back on the self... helps keep things fresh I suppose ;]

Animerik - Thanks matey As I said to Urgat, the hands are a bit of a lazy option, so I will change them when I start working on him again :]

Griffonclaw - Gawwwwwh stop it Thanks for the compliment Griff - glad you are enjoying the blog!

benvoliothefirst - One Talented Git eh? Surely someone else should have that title? This forum is so chockablock full of amazing artists that it baffles the mind! But thanks for the vote! :P Don't worry, the hands will be changed on the big guy, and I'm glad you like the feet - I think I am slowly but surely winning people round with them :P

nando_cadiz - Welcome to the blog! Sit yourself down, have a cup of tea, and enjoy your stay! I'm glad you like the Treeman, and I'm also happy that you have started playing around with putty - stick at it mate!

Anyway folks, on to the miniatures!

First up the Cocklegriff is going to be cast! Although it didnt reach enough Pre-Orders for the Halfling General to be sculpted, it has done pretty well! Thankyou to everyone who supported me!

It has been an aim of mine for the past year or so since starting Warploque Miniatures that I needed to do some more Trolls. Those guys were the first ever models I cast for my webshop, and have been ( other than the Halflings) my most popular models!

The thing is - what could I do with them? Of course there are lots of other Troll Species in Arcworlde, ranging from Desert Trolls, Jungle Trolls and even Sea Trolls, but they are all projects for the future. For the first few years at least I want to concentrate on the armies and beasts of the "Europe" area of ArcWorlde, and then expand into the other territories as time progresses. Just sculpting alt poses of the existing trolls is borrrrringgg, and will be saved for when I REALLY haveto scrape the barrel!

But then I had a thought - when playing ArcWorlde you will have the option of playing as the wild beasts that roam the land, either on their own, or in packs of their own kind. As trolls are based on large apes, most of the hunting will be done by males, but what is to stop the females from charging into battle?

To my knowledge, there are hardly ANY female troll models out there, the only one I am aware of are the ones that Ed Fortae did for Troll Forged (and lovely models they are too). The plan is to sculpt a lady troll, or a Trollwife, that is of a generic species, rather than specialising them, so that they can be diferentiated by the paintjob. Accompanying them will be "Trollbairns" - young trolls the size of Bayourks that will accompany their mother and fight alongside her.

ANyway, enough waffle, here is the first WIP! -

As well as this, something else I have been working on - a few "sneak peaks" ;] -

On a different note, the latest version of the ArcWorlde PDF rulebook has been completed! If there is anyone who would be willing to take a look and give me some feedback, or even play a few test games, then please let me know! Everyone who comes back to me with a detailed "report" will have their names mentioned in the "credits"! :P

Thanks guys! Sorry again for being so silent, things should be back to normal again now... Until I go on holiday in 2 weeks time that is! :P

    Cheers!

I will read it and give you a commented version back. My free time for the next month is filled with a marriage (+ bachelor party) and moving people/finishing the new house. But I will travel a lot as well so there is enough time to read and comment. PM on the way, I look forward to see it.

EDIT: Did I just spot some pink?

I think the female Trolls arms should be in some sort of angry naging pose.

Hit me up with that PDF warpy, ill have a look and give you my thoughts. As for the lady troll, shouldnt it be a tad bit smaller than a male troll since females in general are smaller then men.

Looking good mate, congrats on getting the pdf finished!

@Griffonclaw - She is smaller, if you look at her shoulder height there is a noticable difference. The only reason she looks the same height is cause shes holding her head up high, presumably to look her mate in the eye before she clobbers him,

Hey guys! thanks for the comments!

LittleJoe - You are getting married?! Congratulations buddy! have a drink on your stag do from me I look forward to reading your comments I may not reply for a while after you have posted your feedback, but everyone who sent me some I will get back to And where have you spotted some pink?

N810 - I'm thinking of it :P "Hurrugh! You put that hobbit down, you hear! There isn't just your mouth to feed in this family!"

Griffonclaw - Hairy is right - don't worry I did the measurements :P

Hairy - Thanks mate, couldn't have done it without you Though I think by the sound of the feedback I'm getting there may be a few tweakings...

    Anyway folks, a quick update!

Because I'm off on Holiday a week on thursday ( Off to Florida, USA - Whoo!), I decided that, for this month's releases, I would get a few of my older models cast (hopefully) for the Swords for Hire army -

    The Rogue Knight -

The Wild Elven Druidess ( need to think of a better name) -

and the Sect of Canis Cultist -

To complete the gang, and on a whim, I thought I would add a fourth member -

I introduce to you (WIP), Bibbington "The Sorceror" Bells -a dealer in magic and spells! (And anyone who gets the reference wins a cookie!)

Essentially he is a "Wizard for Hire" - more often seen frequenting village fates and entertaining the drinking houses across Hobbleshire, he is more powerful than he lets on...

Not sure what to do his hands, either bare with a "SHAZZAM!" pose, or waving a wand... what do you think?

    Cheers guys!

Me? Nope, a friend is up for the chopping block. But it involves heavy drinking duty on my part during the next two weekends.
I think there is some pink swirling on the female Halfling cook's apron.

So how will these models become available to us? A small wand would be nice, something small and powerful like the sorcerer himself.

Re: The Host of the Feathered Serpent - Lizzie Blog + Other bits i fancy doing...

Is there a genetic trait that makes people always misspell rogue for rouge? Anyway yeah, yeah, they're great and all, but they're not the second kiwi...
    ...

    ...

...Awww c'm'on don't make that face, I'm joking

By the way Warpy, I think you should take that elven chick (the same one. You should name her, btw), and make a version ridding a giant owl (or a gryphowl if you want to make a collection). With that big hair flying in the wind and stuff.
    That would be so grand.

But I'm still waiting for the second kiwi, and I'm working these days so I could actually buy it w/o feeling guilty

I need to make my debut post on this forum before I can start building my new painting blog, so I thought I'd just throw it out there that I bit the bullet earlier and ordered my Cocklegriff!

Re: The Host of the Feathered Serpent - Lizzie Blog + Other bits i fancy doing...

    Hey guys!

LittleJoe - Ahhhh... did you have a good time? That is indeed a bit of pink on the apron! And I went with a wand after all I'm also very glad that you like the halflings - as always post up piccies when you can!

N810 - Thanks mate - glad you like him

Urgat - Patience young Padawan, patience! A Death Kiwi is never late, nor is he early! He will be cast precisely when he means to! ( Two nerd references... oh dear I think I need a lie down...) A gryphowl is a pretty awesome idea! But I was thinking of a more sinister mount for my Wild Elves...

Roscopackman - Good Lad! Let me know when you've painted him so I can have a looksee!

Once again guys, sorry for the lack of contact recently :/ I've just been getting my college work out of the way, and now that the final Exhibition is up, it's time to get back to normal! Hopefully this, rather large update, should rectify my sin of silence :P

Here is a crappy picture of my corner of the exhibition... the Art of ArcWorlde!

On that plinth is every model I have painted for Warploque Miniatures - almost my whole range! Hopefully none of the models will get knicked...

Because I was sick of painting Halflings, I decided to try out my paint scheme for the Albionnicans - what do you think?

Also, my latest sculpting project, an Albionnican Engineer! (WIP) -

These guys go to battle with the troops, seeing to the warmachines and fixing, or even customising, the weapons of their comrades. The contraption that this guy is holding ( havn't got a name for him yet) is a "Steam Rifle" - a lead bullet is fired by the huge built up pressures of superheated steam. This is cutting-edge technology, still in it's testing phases, and are usually custom built for use by the engineers alone. A larger version of this, the "Steam Cannon" will provide the artillery and long rage support for the Albionnicans, and will probably end up blowing up alot of the time :P

The little critter on his shoulder is a Griffling -

    - a cross between a housecat and a pigeon, and are used to send messages during battle, or even used as flying scouts ( yes, you will be able to buy units of these guys when playing ArcWorlde :P )

    Read on for more news!

Re: The Host of the Feathered Serpent - Lizzie Blog + Other bits i fancy doing...

Anyway, as well as these, I have some models up for PRE ORDER!

As I said before, seeing as I havn't really had much personal sculpting time this month, I've decided to release some older models -

    For Pre-Order, we have -

Jacques D'Urisine - Rogue Gallican Knight

    Wild Elven Fell Druidess

    Bibbington "The Sorceror" Bells

And last but not least... the dreaded Barrow Wight

    What do you think chaps?

You will have 3 weeks to Pre-Order these, so your last chance to grab one will be the
    15th of July 2012

As with the Cocklegriff, if you place an order for this model, the money will be instantly widthdrawn from your PayPal account, as if you have made a normal purchase. Once an order has been made, you will be updated regularly on the progress of the casting, and then notified when the model has been sent to you. If 15 orders have not been made by the 15th of July 2012, then the model will not be cast and all monies paid will be refunded - it's as simple as that!

Thanks guys, I hope you enjoy these!
