Skaven: Clan Grytikk

Trying to start with Skaven agian, last time I gave up as soon as I realized the monkey-clanrat models where darn ugly, IMO. But now as GW did some new Clanrats I'm going skaven again.


Right now I'm making a warband and the list so far is:


Clan Grytikk

(Well that's the name of the warband as long as I don't come up with something better).

20x Clanrats with full comand
10x Slaves
10x Giant Rats & 1x Packmaster

I've converted some old rats and some from the Plauge Monks set to Giant Rats:

That's cool! I like seeing someone putting that sort of extra effort into the "lowly" giant rats.

I', for the moment working on a converting a Clanrat into a Warlock engineer with warpmusket, warlock optics and a death globe. I really like the idea of a sniper general that just stands in the background picking off enemys

Your Clanrat looks awesome! The skin tone is perfect. The highlights on the cloth tie everything together.

The rats do have a medieval look to them, but they are cool and the albino one is really good.

@ Lord Deth: Thanks, but the slave it is not supposed to be an albino. He looks much paler on the picture than in real life :P

Thought I post a picture of the Warlock Engineer that's going to be the general of the warband. It's WIP

Picture of his musket comes when I think it looks good enough to put up here. It's my first time trying to sculp a gun so it's really hard for me :P

Finally the Warlock is as good as finished, just some minor fixes left. And therefore I thought I could put up a picture of him.

That is a great looking warlock. Nice convo. And the paintjob on your slave is excellent!

I really really like your scheme. I mean, albino isn't crazy original, but you have achieved an awesome look.
Looks great, I just wish I could play against an army like that.

Neat job there, really looks the part.

Maybe add some rivets to secure the barrel. If the GS is still workable, try using the tip of a thin ball-point pen or one of those clickable pencils and press it into the Greenstuff, leaving a circular indentation. It makes great instant rivets.

Very good giant rats, especially the one with a skeleton skull! Considering that painted clanrat, this is going to be an ace project...

As for your Warlock Engineer: Its just as inventive as one should get when creating characters out of the new great plastics! It's nice, but some more detailing would make it "pop" - the metal bands around the muskets could be sharpened up somewhat perhaps, rivets can always be added, and the plastic bit on the barrel could be drilled out.

wow! seriously...wow! Simple but really effective conversion. Love to see some skaven dirty mind working Don't stop!
