Thanks guys. I was thinking of adding a skull or two to the base, and maybe some blood on the axe, but I'm afraid it might make him a bit busy.

I think it would work buddy, either half a skull on the base or maybe one hanging from his belt at the rear! As for blood, don't go over the top but an edging and some splatter should give it that bit more!![]()

Hmmm, I was thinking one or two hanging from his belt would do the trick. Just gotta find the right kinda chain to hang it from. I've got a Imperial Guard skull with helm, and I'm sure I can scrounge up another. I'll probably do the blood today or tomorrow. Just a touch, like you suggest. What is a good technique for splatter? Actually, I've been trying to come up with a method for a bit now. Also, would blood dry fastest at the cutting edge or further back on the axe?

Finished fig looks terrific, really nice work on the stretched and tormented skin, looks every bit the creature of chaos it is. Planning on adding a couple of mates?

Thanks, I was worried about the flesh. I had a bottle of Secret Weapon Red/Black ink, figured it could be useful. I used it to wash a Tallarn Flesh base, then a light drybrush of T. Flesh, with P3 Midlund Flesh highlights. Indeed, he's got 2 pals I'm gonna work on soon. I really didn't have a lot of trouble finishing him, but he was tedious and time consuming, so I might paint something a bit quicker beforehand. I just did NOT enjoy painting him, lol.
Looking pretty brutal DK. I like these guys à lot

Hehehehehe, guess what is getting painted next? Got it primed and basecoated today. *HINT* Meganutz was kind enough to send me a Lord Zhufor head a while back, cause I don't like topknots...
My take on Abby is finished!

Liking your original take on Abaddon. That FW helmet works pretty well for a ferocious looking BL terminator lord. Consider your idea stolen!![]()

Appreciate the support. Thanks again to MegaNutz for the head. I'm not terribly happy with the purity seal, I may go back and add a khaki glaze to make it look more like parchment? Also, some scribbling. Other than that, pretty dang happy with him. Back to Oblits for me.
*EDIT* Did some work on the purity seal, much happier with it, in the last pic of Abby.

Solid work Dragoon, nice and grim. The only thing I would add to this mini is some extra highlighting to his face. That way, you give it a strong focal point and still retain the overall gritty look.
Carry on brother!
