I've stuck the power klaw arms on now and it's beginning to look like my Meganobz will soon be finished.

The klaws has, like the shoulder of the shoota arm, been given some warpaint:

A closeup of one of the Meganobz.

I still have some cables to paint on the klaw arms, but then it's on to the final parts - head and iron gob!

Been busy working away at the iron gobs of the Meganobz and I thought I should post them here. I went for varied designs on the gobs to get a more ragtag appearance. I guess Orks aren't that known for being uniform when it comes to armour and gear (unless they're Stormboyz that is!). I'm really pleased with the the freehand tooth glyph (pic five). Tell me what you think!

    Only the heads left then...

Pet pic time! Seems like every thread has one of these...

Say hi to Milo. He's a Hamiltonstövare - a hunting dog breed of Swedish origin.

Finally! The finished Meganobz in all their glory! I still have to do the bases of course, but I haven't decided what to do with them yet.

I painted the warpaint with Ultramarines blue to make it slighty different from the Mordian blue on the armour.

I just couldn't resist giving them some Orky names! I really like these models a lot - when I look at them they always seem to say "Come an' 'ave a go if you fink you are 'ard enuff!"

Hmm... Looking good sofar! Names: They fit them very well... I however would like to see the background of these models because they are so ace!

    Keep 'em just like that!

Thanks Dreff! Nice to hear that you're inspired by my humble work.

As for background I haven't gotten that far yet, as the painted part of my Ork army sofar only consists of seven models (the Meganobz and one ordinary Nob). But perhaps I will come up with something in the future.

Hoping to do some more work on the Warboss this week. Stay tuned for more!

Slow progress on the Warboss. I've painted the skin and started to add some basecoats to the clothes.

Sorry for the bad pic - my desk lamp is very yellow sometimes...

I recently bought some Ork Kommandos off eBay, and I'm looking forward to painting the sneaky little gitz!

But I have some other models to finish first I guess.

Thank you! Yeah, I'm really pleased with the markings on these Nobz. They were sort of a testing ground for how I would do the clan markings on the rest of my Orks, and now I think I've gotten the hang of it.

No dog pictures today I'm afraid, but rather MOAR Orks!

Finally some progress on the Warboss! There's still a lot to do, but so far so good. And no, his teeth is not finished yet. I'm experimenting with painting the gums and tongue in turquoise to get a more alien feel. Orks aren't human after all...

    Waaagh!

Re: Covering Fire (hopefully) does some painting (Salamanders, Word Bearers, Alaitoc)

Some more progress on the Warboss today. I've glued the Shoota arm on and painted some blue and white areas on the armour. Ans as a Death Skull Warboss he just had to have some warpaint as well!

I added a wash of Thraka green to the tongue to tone the blue down and make a bit greener. Worked out well I think.

Only the bosspole left now. And some work on the blue and white areas of course.

    Thanks for the comment!

I've was away on a business trip last week trying to learn Dewey Decimal Classification (I work as a librarian...no, not the Space Marine kind) so I haven't been able to paint for a while, but now the Warboss is ready for waaagh!

Comments appreciated! I think the next project will be the 5 metal nobz...

Re: Covering Fire (hopefully) does some painting (Salamanders, Word Bearers, Alaitoc)

In order for my newly painted Warboss to have some minions to boss around I decided to paint the 5 metal Nobz next.

I've painted the skin so far since this is the part I usually start with. Then I tend to paint the clothes and armour before painting and attaching the heads. After that I go for the arms and weapons and finally the backpack/banner/bosspole. I'll probably take the same route with these guys. Why change a winning concept?

How about you guys? In which order do you tend to paint your models?

haha, for marines i use to build the body (legs, torso, & Head) and paint those before adding and painting the arms, then the shoulder pads, and finally the back pack.

But i have been working on terminators so i just build the whole thing an go at it!

The Warboss came out nice and i look forward to seeing him with some Nobz.

Happy birthday thread! I just checked the date on my opening post in this thread and saw that it was one year ago I started this log. Amazing how time flies when you're having fun...

EDIT: Funny that this also was post #100 in the thread!

I've done some basecoats on the Nobz (Chaos black, Dark flesh, Scorched brown and Bestial brown). When I'm finished with these colours I'll paint the metal parts and then apply the washes.
