Looking great! One of these days I'll have to paint a blue ork army! But as I haven't even finished my bad moonz or even my goffs yet, it'll have to wait! Or?

Thanks! I checked both your logs and your Orks look amazing! But by all means, go for a Deathskull army as well...

Yes, the choppa came out rather well I think! I haven't got the new plastic ones yet (only the ones from Assault on Black Reach), but I still think the old metal ones look far harder and brutal than the new ones!

    Long time, no update

The reason for this is of course my ice world terrain project over at the Terrain Project Logs section. I've been devoting my hobby time here over the last week or so.

Tonight, however, I've done some work on my Nobz. I've painted the metal and washed them with Devlan mud and Badab black.

I've come a long way on the heads as well, so we have some progress at least!

Heads added! A bunch of rather mean looking Orks don't you think?

Work has begun on the arms, so hopefully I'll have a new update soon.

I love that blue hair on that last nob... Looks so simple, yet effective!

    Keep the arms coming!

Thanks for the kind words guys! The blue hair is indeed simple: Basecoat with Mordian blue, highlight with Ultramarines blue and then a finer highlight with Space wolves grey.

I'll probably do some Salamanders next - my long forgotten Command squad I think. But first I'll have to finish these Orks of course!

My terrain log seems to steal all my hobby time at the moment, but I've managed a small bit of work on the Nobz. I've painted and glued the gun arms in place:

Now I only have the back banners left to do...and the big Waaagh banner of course!

Phew! Finally managed to finish the Nobz! Added a lot of blue and white paint as can be seen. I'm quite pleased with the warpaint on the faces.

    Nob with Waaagh banner:

I spent some time pondering which chapter the Space Marine helmets on the bosspole should be from...but then I rememered that I really don't like Space Wolves:

    Nob with blue helmet:

    Badass power klaw nob:

    Final nob:

    Group shot:

Next up: Salamanders Command Squad and Salamanders Captain.

Yeah, I know they're not based and thus not *finished*...but I haven't decided on a base theme for my orks yet, so it will have to wait. Any suggestions on how to do nice bases?

Desert death skulls...? no, They are da sneaky gits! City bases of some sort I'd say. I didn't even noticed that the bases are unmade...

Urban bases with a lot of scrap and stuff would work well for these guys!
Btw, the nobz look great! I love the new nobz but they old ones have a lot of character!

Before I get to grips with the Command squad I decided to paint a marine for the Warseers Chapter. I present Battle Brother Amdar of the Warseers 6th Company:

Quite WIP of course, but It's a start.
