I thought this scene was particulary strange, because a) when the police enter and emerge from the sewers, they all seem be heavily armed with assault rifles, shotguns and such, but they all seem to have misplaced their firearms in this scene. And b) even though the police charge at enemies wielding machine guns and other automatic weaponry, only a few policemen fall/get shot, and in irregular order; other than the actual ranks of men that would be torn apart by the withering hail of gunfire.
And Matthew Modine's character should have died a lot sooner; not only was he in the front rank advancing against weapons fire, but in his dress uniform he was clearly marked out as a leader, and thus surely would have been picked off.
But hey, I still enjoyed the film!
It makes more sense in sixth edition, because the front characters probably have something like a 'luck' or 'dodge' invulnerable save. So, they tank all the hits from the guns and then the bullets disappear when they're dodged

Well it depends on the comics doesn't it? I thought the film was a blend of Knightfall and The Dark Knight Returns (in which he comes back from retirement as an older arthritic man). So I still think it's a good comic to screen transfer.
As for gadgets - I think they may have been trying to differentiate him from Tony Stark a bit.
I think Burnthem was making a general statement on the series as a whole rather than this last film.
Boy, I sure wish this forum had a Spoiler tag function.![]()

The Dude's an Australian Mod. I prefer to be known as Mute, in reference to my quiet demeanor, or by the reverse of my actual name, which is Konrad.

So far I have only seen one major spoiler, but if you even remotely familiar with modern Batman, it wasn't a surprise at all.
Also, I have been watchign Burn Notice. It is a fun, and light show. However, I'm a bit disconcerted by how often the "hero" gets his adversaries killed. It kind of takes the light hearted tone down a few notches. Plus, In the second season, I already see them rehashing broad strategems and plot threads. Some more subtly than others. I hope the writers aren't runing out of steam this early in the show.

I've been watching Burn Notice on Netflix Instant myself... I like it a lot. I don't mind the tonal oddities, as to me it just reinforces the insanity of Michael's line of work.

Plus, Bruce Campbell. He makes most things worthwhile.

The best bit of The Dark Knight Returns is when Clint Eastwood cameos as Bane's butler Geoffrey, and proceeds to beat the stuffing out of Alfred.

This. Plus, I used to love watching Macgyver, and Burn Notice is pretty much an almost exact copy (minus the aversion to guns) wrapped up in spy clothing, right down to the actors VoiceOver explaining to the audience exactly what clever improvisation the hero is up to.
Whenever I see Bruce Campbell's reaction shot to the explosion in Season 2's openign credits, it makes me laugh.

I watched two episodes of The Kennedys last night. Seems to be a very good show; I enjoyed it. Geat cast too. I missed the first minutes of the first episode of the night and didn't recognize Katie Holmes for that whole episode until the credits rolled.
