    Safe (2012)

    Jason Statham kills everybody.

No, seriously. Everybody. It's very much the typical Statham role, in which he protects a young girl that everyone else wants to capture/kill, and in the process, he goes totally berserk and kills the entire rest of the cast.

Pretty forgettable. The action sequences were okay, but edited a little choppily. Worth a one-time Watch, but only because I got it free on Netflix Instant. Don't bother if you have to pay money.

I think I liked Safe better than you Col. Shaw, but I also saw it on Netflix Instant.

Disclaimer: My experience with Star Trek previously started and pretty much ended with TNG. I knew almost nothing about TOS before the previous movie.

    Star Trek: Into Darkness (2013)
Whatever happened to boldly going where no-one has gone before?
Out of the last four action movies I've seen - all praised by critics - three have been disappointments and this was one of them. There were so many stupid things going on with the plot and script, such as

    Are they idiots?
    And also

And all the punch-ups. And Leonard Nimoy. And

Why not do something more original? Why not go out and explore?

    Blech!

    Verdict: Watchable
    (three out of five)

That sounds like a forced 'watchable' to me.

    Also the misleading tagline:

"After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. "

That scene at least was cool. But the

    were a let-down.

I feel like I should watch Star Trek just so I can read all of these spoiler conversations.
