that American Lisbeth asks "May I kill him?" and goes after Martin with a gun, but doesn't get a chance to kill him because he dies almost immediately in the accident. Swedish Lisbeth says nothing of the sort and doesn't have a gun. What she DOES have, is ample chance to save him as he lies trapped in the wreckage, but chooses not to and instead watches as the car catches fire and he burns to death. She then gives her justification to Michael. Better done in the Swedish one, I feel, as it presents Lisbeth as nastier while the American one feels a bit like cheating.
