Thread: Dannage's Imperial Forgeworld!

    Re: Dannage's Imperial Forgeworld!

Very good design, I find it much more to my liking than the Forgeworld one. The only tiny detail I would change is the doors - I'd make the align precisely with the sides, rather than leaving the lower parts of the sides showing, but that's just me. If it works, it's good.

    Thanks all. More updates soon.

I was going to use Crassus rules, but from what I can tell, this thing is much bigger, so I may look at the Gorgon rules and then adapt them. woot...

Workshop updates: 4 months after ripping the half the roof off, more and more water is coming in and they can't tell where it's coming from, so apparently they are eviciting a guy from another unit, moving someone else from a waterproofed unit to his one, then moving me in there. Probably be a couple of months, but looks like I'll finally have the table up and building again before the year is out.

Currently I'm painting up my Orks, since I realised I used the wrong shade of grey spray on the troop crawlers.. B&Q appear to have stopped selling that shade (though it's still on their home website so they still do it!) Meantime... Orksies is shootier dan uvver runties...

    Re: Dannage's Imperial Forgeworld!

    I have -NEWS-!

To bring the newly introduced up to speed, I had a workshop, the workshop flooded. They couldn't, and still cannot, fix said leaking. They then moved me to half a portacabin, which I shared with the police. I had one room, they had another. It was so comparitively small, I was never going to be able to display anything, so it all went into storage mode...

Well, yesterday they told me the police no longer want their cabin, so they gave me the other half, muha ha haaa...

So today I went and I moved some furniture around and took stuff off the police walls and moved my imperial guard table in there. The table had nothing on it (would you believe the trees I used that horrific e-tac stuff on are -STILL- tacky after 18 months!!!) but I thought now that I had some Orks and my guard in the building as well, I would randomly place the models down, if only to get a sense of scale and how much free space I'd have.

Yeah, so you know I had said I had planned to make the town intact?... I had these plans for a cathedral in there and stuff and... well.. I don't think I'll be able to. I seem to have filled up the table even if I don't have buildings on it... and this is before the centrepiece, that Leviathan, even shows up...

Guess it's going to have to move from imperial town in tact, to imperial ruins...

But what a party it's going to be...

Well, progress in an unexpected direction is still progress, right? Glad to hear you're getting things sorted.

Ran into the same problem last time we played Apo. Could have some thing to do with the amount of super-heavies.

Looks like a nice table (when it gets done )

That is one (well... two) expensive piece of transport, but oh so beautiful. Now get to painting, and that table too! Apoc games are fine, but they are so much more fun when everything is painted!

Well, this isn't a gaming table, this is just a display piece for my Leviathan. Muhwa ha haa...

I say muhwa ha ha... The table in the other room will house my space marines. That one will need to be a -lot- bigger... The other room is the smaller of the two, but I plan on keeping the workstation and other displays in this room, so felt it was appropriate to put the imperial guard display in here.

Well, regardless of what you intend to with this space you are now effectively without excuses, so please get on with posting up some new stuff

I'm pleased for you, mate, glad you finally get your space. Is it a secure unit? Wouldn't like someone breaking in and nicking all your gear now you finally have somewhere to put it all!

The bulk of my stuff is currently wedged in boxes and carry cases back in Edinburgh... I'm pining for it to be honest - once I'm done with working in London I'm definitely getting me a display case from IKEA. Or something.

Glad you're back in business! Orks! Guard! Marines! NOW!

I am still on the look out for that new house and one of the main search criteria I'm looking for is 'Includes annexe'. The cabins are a good 30 minute drive from home and the other half doesn't like me spending time without her. I had to, in fact, bring her along with some books, to the Sunday trip where I took down all the Police stuff and set the table up again. She got very bored very quickly... and very aggitated.

She is hopefully out on Monday night, so maybe an update then, though I'm going back to the table bits now, of course...

    Re: Dannage's Imperial Forgeworld!

Well... 4 months... Christmas is out of the way though and I've done a second trip to wayland and emptied their shelves (Mainly non GW stuff this time!)... Work done on this model has been sparse, as I have been focussing this month largely on custom making a display cabinet... thing... Word to the wise kids, if you buy a length of wood and find it's twisted, assuming you will be able to eventually coax it back into shape with nails, not so shiny. After a promising start the glorified '3 2'x2' boards on display' look highly botched, but you know what, provided it stays up, I will make a better one, when I one day move from the portacabin to a home with an annexe!

No photo's of the carpentry hash. In other news, finally got my uncharted seas boats and realised I had thought (due to some photo somewhere) that these boats were tiny, but when I bought them, they were huge... And made my island terrain look even more stupid.

So yeah, going to have to start those again!

    Re: Dannage's Imperial Forgeworld!

So, progress on the town has been limited to:

Decide the vynil on the park just doesn't work. Take it away.
Decide the 'lump' hill in the middle looks stupid, cut it off.
Decide to increase ground space by blocking off some of the canals on the 'west' side of the table.
    Construct a second building.
Bit of paint on the first building.
Finishing up the 'brick work' section of the canal.
Deciding Brickwork takes a long time, and towns in real life often have different sections on structures, especially when they are old, so, wondering if lollipop sticks would be quicker.
Finding out lollipop sticks were ten times quicker. Took about an hour to put together. Took about 40 minutes to paint em.
