This is coming along really well
I didn't notice the different shades of mosaic tiles until you mentioned it, that must have been rather frustrating to discover though :/

Ha, I knew it was Revell...
Bit o spray on the outside of the building now
Irritatingly couldn't remember the configuration of the wall sections I'd had before, but at least now they have some paint on em.

Ha hah, looking back at older pics now, I remember, that the tiny bit of wall was at the BACK not the front!.... I was wondering how the hell I'd managed to make it roughly work before... A weight has been lifted form my shoulders... bet I forget by the time I go there again.
And inside, currently messing around with different things but along these lines, to make it look factory-esque
Whilst I was fiddling, I also made a start on more 'tiles' for the ruined building on the other side of the table. Time will tell (and when I put the turqouise and washes on it) whether the foam looks anything like the tiles on the pegasus set

Do like that "factory type" of building, the interiorlooks great. It would be great to play a game in there.
Like that youve added alot of trollies and things, it gives the building alot of character.

Well, the 50 hour weeks at work haven't abated, but I did finally find some time to get to the cabin today. I ended up seeing some old friends there, who are very profficient at talking so the first two hours was a bust, and by the third hour the mrs wanted to go home, but I at least managed to:
- Move out a whole bunch more GW stuff from under my feet in my study.
- Organise the desk a little bit and stack up my cupboards now into a nice tidy arrangement.
- Find my Ork Fleet and put it on its designated shelf
- Paint up some more of the broken up walls from the inside of the building with the coloured floors.
- Put the base of another building next to the building with the coloured floors, using the bastion base...
- Basecoat paint the statue from the WHF graveyard set
- Reassemble the Pegasus Cathedral and reposition it slightly, so it leaves some room for the Leviathan. I'm still unsure about having enough space for the Leviathan and the massive guard army (I found 3 more army box sets after I took those other photos!) without destroying the cathedral but... but.. it's so pretty...
Plus I wanted some intact buildings and so far, only the factory has 'light' damage. The two smaller church type buildings are moderately damaged and then everything by where the Orks will be is just smashed to bits. Technically this makes sense, assuming the two armies have been pummelling each other at long range and destroying the town in the middle, the Orks would definitely have passed the halfway mark, since they are so much fasta...
Also, pictures of what's on the calamitous shelving unit I built... I have more Halo toys... No room... I will inevitably be forced to make a bigger space for them...
The annexe attached to my next house is going to have to be massive... If any lottery winners are feeling generous you know where to find me.![]()

Ooooh!!! BFG Orks!!! I DO like 'emI am very pleased to see all this recent progress, Dannage - the cityscape is coming along in leaps and bounds! That's some excellent use of Revell kits to spruce the scene up too - let me know if you want some really random junk to litter the streets with. Although now that I think about it, even an entire box would only take up one corner haha!
Imperial and Ork starships, random Imperial troops and now the developing zombie plague...

As for my progress, consider it less leaps and bounds and more a distinctly old school zombie style shuffling inexcorably towards a completed mediocrity.![]()

A trip to wayland today, another two crates of purchases, a couple of hours in the workshop but then the gf got bored (I think I'm going to stop bringing her) so no real photos to show. I disassembled the big church, I assembled one side of it with glue and the 'plug holes' filled in. Three more sides to do this with before that is fully built. Painted more 'wrecked' wall bits, painted more of the statue from the garden of morr set. That is going in front of the smaller church type building, then a graveyard goes between it and the park. Will try and get to the workshop Monday and Tuesday nights, see if I can get some photos then. :s

Progress with a quick trip to the cabin this morning whilst my beloved went out and did a bootsale.
As penance for being involved in invading, these Orks are doing community service propping up gravestones in the new cemetery.
Dannage finds another use for fab foam, making new pavement sections quicker and less iregular looking.
The big church has gotten one section smaller, and moved back towards the table edge? Why? Because I unpacked the other track section of the Leviathan and... she needed more space! Looks like there'll be less city than I'd hoped.![]()

Then, feeling slightly intimiated by the police symbol on the glowing background...
A lovely model's eye view, with slightly less backlighting!
Looks like warlord games have furnished me with some decent 'children' from their celt civilians blister. Also a tiny dog. Having these kids running from the action will certainly provide an interesting little vignette somewhere.
Sometimes it's good to take a step back.. or in this case, stand on a chair... and get a different perspective.
Back in the thick of things, the statue between the two church buildings has a lick more paint. Though is slightly nervous that a Leviathan is going to crunch it!
Another view up the canal, this time from the east. I'm enjoying the fact these two buildings still look imposing (even if the church is now further back) because they will in turn be dwarved by the behemoth. muhwa ha haa...

Great cityboard yove made, Mate ! Love the truck in the canal. Good to hear that they had to cope with a smaller church, so the leviathan would fit
/ SDKFZ
Thanks, the truck actually was originally intended to be about 5 inches further up the canal, so it would obscure the screws sticking out from the table leg, but it seemed a bit daft that the truck might veer off by about 30 metres to come off the road, so... I may embed a sentinel in the river.![]()
I have decided against sticking all the buildings down, I will stick a few of the smaller ones down and some rubble, but in the interests of being able to disassemble the board and get it out of the building (to transport it to my annexe when I get one!) the larger pieces will just sit in the right place. A sentinel in the canal though, seems doable, since I bought another one anyway and I already had 7 or 8 anyway.

Popped up there tonight after work, clearly summer is my modelling time!![]()
Not a tremendous amount done, and was largely aiming to get more pavement done, but actually ended up painting the floor in the building space next to the park, then tearing many COD pieces apart.
Another row of gravestones and it's starting to look spooky.![]()

Go leviathan go !
A sentinel in the river.........right side up or........?
/ SDKFZ
If right side up can successfully obscure the screws, then she will be right side up. I also recently bought an Ork buggy, which I could dip into the canal instead, if I need to.![]()

Dannage,
Totally love this. Can't wait to see it in real life!
Also thanks for the pancakes.
The Emperor upholds a teleological scheme for the future of man, unifying and perfecting humanity through the intense application of martial violence, and I will endeavour to uphold it.
Heh, no worries. Was fun to find out I had a fan who didn't know he knew me.
Forgot to mention, the other project on the list, probably come before the fortress given the space that one will need, is an Ork Gargant konstruk site, complete with multi-stages-of-development gargant. Next time they run a narrative weekend I'm at, I'll be sure to make it a special objective and results of games over which it's fought will determine if the gargant is 'more built' next time they play. Should add an interesting dimension to it... But three more to take care of before this, so no rush...![]()
