lions finished, I´ll try to primer them between today or tomorrow, so next week I´ll be very busy..
The mane is not as good/detailed as I wanted, but at least it looks cool. It´s made of GS

this goes really slow, but it has to be finished 4th of July for the Spanish Games day...
Assassin´s base, as I want to use it in my DE army the theme is the same, slates...but I tried a different way, plasticard, I cut and carves a bit of it and added sand:

For the lions, wanted a rocky look for the bases, and inspired by a friend´s bases I tried this.
I chopped some pine crust, maybe too much:
Mix this pine crust with a bit of water, glue, and a mix sand of different grains
I took 2 cavalry bases and covered the gaps with tape
I stirred the mix and applied it like butter:

Well, lions and assassin finished..all C&C will be well received as usual. I think the look nice, but could be much improved with finer highlights and a clearer overall work.
The lions´faces are the part I like less..
I was in hurry, so there is no intermediate steps ..
I would be very pleased if anyone could help me a bit with the airbrush, I´ve used in the lions..but I´m not able to use it properly....
1st intermediate step:
I primed the lions with gray Tamiya spray, and apply the basecoat with airbrush. After it, I tried to apply a zenital highlight (airbrush) which is not noticed and shadow from beneath (airbrush)...this shadow as you can see is horrible because all the paint look as a myriad of points..is not an homogeneous shadow..Why?..too much water in the mix, too much pressure in the airbrush?...too dark shadow?..Really I don't know
All the following "shadow" work is made with the GW washes (I love them)
The following photo is the look of a lion after shadowing it and before applying lights
all finished..
1st lion

2nd lion
The assassin
For the assassin I primed in black GW spray, basecoated with brush and as for the lions applied washes for shadows before highlights.
You can see in some craves an odd brownish thing..this is a varnish excess..I applied it in spray without any care..and this is the result,,DAMN!..at least it doesn't destroyed all the mini..only "coloured" some craves in each mini.
I also applied gloss varnish to the elf´s armour and the eyes, nose and mouth of lions, but the photos don´t show it properly...
Hope you like it...
back to school...
Tomorrow I´ll post the first 3 SW conversion finished...
Prior this, I´ll show you how I made a preheresy (I think) shoulderpad. I saw some of them and really like how they look.
My SW will look like 13th company so this preheresy look fit them perfectly..
1 - A standard marine shoulderpad
2 - Cut edges, sand it off to flatten the shoulderpad
3 - Set the pints where the rivet will be
4 - Make a little hole with a pin to help the later drill
5 - Drill each hole to make bigger the hole to place the little balls I´ll use as rivets. The little balls are circled in red. I got them from a friend who works in an optician's (Think use them to clean the glasses with ultrasounds)
6 - I glue the balls with cyanocrilate, shoulder pad finished!
First batch of 3 blood claws finished... 3 more in the line.
they have their final bases unglued, as well as their backpacks, in order to paint everything easily
Hope you like them, C&C are welcome for next batch...

Witch hunters, Death Guard, Orcs and Goblins, Space Orks, Vampire counts, Renegades and more
superb work on the lions!
Great repositioning and bitmashing. I think that your marines have just about perfectly hit their proportions. They look good and natural. I love the way they look, I hope to see some paint showing up on them too.

2 more BC fixed, previous step to fill gaps and detail them... 1 more in process...
