Second of the RT Adventure Book Trilogy has just been announced.
Treasure Awaits
“A right dangerous place, to be sure. Only a madman would make it a habit to travel there...but as the saying goes, only the insane truly prosper!”
-Sarvus Trask, Rogue Trader

The key to your quest lies hidden at the Casket of Secrets, in the very heart of the Citadel of Skulls, Karrad Vall’s home. Prepare to attempt the ultimate heist: stealing a priceless artefact that belonged to a legendary starship from Karrad Vall’s vault. No sane person has ever risked entering the Faceless Lord’s inner sanctum, let alone stealing from him...until you.

The Black Sepulchre, an adventure for Dark Heresy, is available

The hand appears to have a fraction of malign intelligence within it. It speaks to those it believes it can corrupt. Attempts to silence its voice have proven useless. Currently Savant-Militant Grendel is engaged in a struggle of wills with the dark entity that now takes home within. He is one of the fair few trained in the psychic arts required to hold the beast at bay. I have sequestered the acolyte Grendel in an airlock aboard the Righteous Indignation. I am monitoring him as I decipher Thrungg’s journal and should he lose control I will jettison him into the void and instruct the captain to purge his remains. It will not be a permanent end to the artefact, but it will buy us, according to my research, a thousand years and a day.
– From the correspondence of Binder Morgaine

It's pretty funny that Grendel managed to worm his way into being canon. I wonder exactly how much of the stories about him they consider to be true. Last I checked he killed a Champion of Khorne and rode on top of a baneblade as it rammed a Bloodthirster then ran down the barrel of the main gun to finish it off in close combat. Huh... I wonder why its awesome when a formerly pudgy little Adept pulls off feats like that but when the genetically engineered magical super-soldiers do it *coughdraigomephistonsanguinatorcough* its largely frowned upon.
I'm sure that Fantasy Flight Games will never publish any of the actual exploits of Grendel there. Just as a means of respecting the lore of the setting. They aren't exactly going to quash any of the stories about what he's done though. Its the perfect way of there being these fanciful stories about what he's done without ever actually having to acknowledge them.
Along with "aboard the Righteous Indignation"? Damn straight they will!
Same reason why people saying "40K is and always has been silly so Mat Ward's writing is okay" are largely ignored.
FFG background is silly, but fun. Mat Ward's 'silly' background is just plain bad.

"As our bodies are armoured with adamantium, our souls are protected with loyalty. As our bolters are charged with death for the Emperors enemies, our thoughts are charged with wisdom. As our ranks advance, so does our devotion, for are we not space marines? Are we not the chosen of the Emperor, his loyal servants unto death?"

I hate myself for typing that sentence, yet it is painfully true.

Around us is darkness and sin. We slip as one ever further into hell. If one could arrest our slide to damnation, but doing so would cost more lives than you can comprehend, is it not right to take that step. Appalling though the price might be, is it not our duty?
—Pronouncement of the First Synod of the Maledictor’s Hand
Investigating corruption within the Ecclesiarchy itself is as delicate as it is dangerous, but when an influential leader is suspected of heresy, you and your fellow Acolytes will uncover an ever-deepening conspiracy that could spell the end of the entire Calixis Sector...
Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release of The Church of the Damned, an adventure for Dark Heresy!
The Church of the Damned is the second adventure in The Apostasy Gambit, a Dark Heresy campaign that takes a cell of Acolytes from investigating the tragic history of a warped Cathedral to crusading against a conspiracy within one of the Imperium’s most vaunted organisations. While The Church of the Damned continues the events started in The Black Sepulchre, it also includes starting points to be played on its own or as part of your own campaign.
Deadly Mysteries
Dark Heresy’s lead developer took the time to share his thoughts about The Church of the Damned:
By now Black Sepulchre is in the hands of players. I’ve gotten a chance to talk to a few groups who have already played through the adventure and they all have the same question... “What’s next?” The cheeky answer is “Part two; it’s a trilogy!” but the question really dives deeper than that.
Black Sepulchre has a few big moments and ends on a Sector-shaking cliffhanger. Players are dying to know what comes next, where their Acolytes go from the events in Black Sepulchre. Obviously I can’t give that away, it would spoil the surprise, but I can discuss a few teasers.
Dark Heresy is a game of investigation, and while there is plenty of action to be had, the core experience is one of mystery and conspiracy. Church of the Damned sees the Acolytes embracing that role and leading an investigation into the heart of one of the Imperium’s most powerful organizations. Witnesses must be questioned, information researched, and crime scenes examined.
Of course, there is a good deal of combat too, with a variety of new and familiar foes. Hair raising, skin of your teeth, knock down, drag out combat. This may be the deadliest adventure we’ve ever written. Don’t expect to save the entire Calixis Sector and come away with all your fate points... or limbs!
The Maledictor’s Hand, a secret group of fanatical extremists, manipulates the Imperium from the shadows. You and your fellow Acolytes must hurry to stop their dark plot before it’s too late. But who can you trust?
Look for The Church of the Damned on store shelves in the third quarter of 2011!
I couldn't find it on the FFG site: Are there any news about the Book of Judgement that was announced for this summer?
Nothing that I'm aware of.
It was ( is ?) scheduled after the daemonhunters book, and that hasn't shipped yet, so ... hang on in there is the best I can offer.![]()
According to the emails I've received from Amazon, FFG have moved the release of the Daemon Hunter book to mid-August. The Book of Judgement is still listed as being set for release in July, and Only War in October, but if Daemon Hunter has been put back, I expect the others will be too.
Amazon is always late receiving the various 40k RPG books in my experience. Paizo Publishing already has the book in stock.
I certainly hope the Daemon Hunter book wasn't pushed back, since I just bought it. Though my FLGS kinda fails at the street-date game...
"Kaylee, find that kid who's taking a dirt nap with baby Jesus. We need a hood ornament."
-Captain Malcom Reynolds, Serenity outtakes
"You always win by running away."
-Captain Justy Ueki Tylor
.. it's out now and is lovely.
anyway...

“The Expanse holds treasures beyond anything even a Rogue Trader can imagine. Sometimes the cost of acquiring such treasure is madness and death. I am willing to pay such a price.”
–Rogue Trader Hadarak Fel
A powerful force has awakened from its slumber somewhere deep within the Hecaton Rifts, and if left unchecked it will spell certain doom for the denizens of nearby sectors. As this ancient evil threatens to destroy both the Koronos Expanse and the Calixis Sector, can you and your fellow Explorers learn the truth of its mysterious origins?
Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Fallen Suns, the third and final instalment in The Warpstorm Trilogy for Rogue Trader! A lost Eldar Craftworld has begun a dark voyage of death and disaster, and only the Rogue Traders of the Koronus Expanse stand in the way of its rampage. Journey into a perilous realm of madness and ancient hate; from Footfall to the Serpent’s Cradle and beyond, you must make common cause with allies old and new if they are to survive. The fate of the Koronus Expanse hangs in the balance!
Fallen Suns can be played as a standalone adventure, or as part of the gripping series of adventures that began with the events of The Frozen Reaches and continued through Citadel of Skulls.
The Final Culmination
In The Frozen Reaches, you and your fellow Explorers assisted the beleaguered world of Damaris in its fight against the Ork Warlord Snokgritz (an attack that suggested far darker forces at work). Then, in Citadel of Skulls, your hunt for answers brought you to the world of an infamous Chaos-blessed pirate lord. In Fallen Suns, these ominous events will culminate in an adventure that will shape the future of the Koronus Expanse.
The heretic fleet of the Faceless Lord seeks to claim the Craftworld’s power...can you survive the exciting conclusion to The Warpstorm Trilogy? Keep checking back for more, and look for Fallen Suns at your local game store in the fourth quarter of 2011!
More Eldar stuff that can be cannabalized and used elsewhere, perhaps?
Edit - Oooh... Banshee on the cover... That looks promising...
It's an adventure, so very unlikely given FFG's practices. Seeing how Black Crusade came out of the blue, it's much more likely the Eldar will be given their own game, or at least an RT supplement similar to the career books for DH.
