Bit the bullet and got myself some nids yesterday. Thinking of a red gore body with another colour for the carapace, Any suggestions?

Got my gaunts built today so thats all of my boxset built, bought some more warriors too. Heres a pic of one of the gaunts which i decided to have a little fun with

Hey guys, Decided to have a go painting my nids today and i found a brilliantly simple but still cool looking scheme

heres the end result ....





All i did for this was undercoat my models black then give them a heavy dust of white.



After this i washed them with leviathon purple



then used khemri brown and dehneb stone on the scales, hooves, claws etc.
I'm getting myself a spray gun tomorrow to speed up the process for the rest of my gribblys



Its going to be interesting to see how this scheme works on my larger models like the warriors and fex's

Only thing i had to do was clip off the little bit of plastic on the torso joint thing on the legs so i could straighten the torso up properly, if i do another i'll prob try using a different head other than a fex head, possibly a cut down zoanathrope head.

Nids are looking good Andy. Sorry, I don't have any spare leviathan purple wash but on a lighter note, I'm liking the idea for the landing spore.

Nice tyrant Noc though if it were me id def cut down the head a bit , yeh thats one of GW middlesbroughs there annoying as hell to build i can tell you lol

On the topic of the landing spore ive thought of another idea of having most of the pod in the ground, kinda like an iceberg works in the sea, as if its crashed into the ground, that way i could probably turn my 2 eggs into 4 pods but i'm not sure if it would look/ work well. Could end up just looking like a crazy man eating plant if i cant get the impact crater looking right.
