Finished all the termigaunts today





Got the hormagaunts inked and painted chickengaunt just to see how they'll look using the scheme



Also started work on my landing pod. I've got it on a base and tried to make it look like its crashed into the gorund, bit like a meteor would

Finished the landing spore today, well the modelling of it, still needs a good lick of paint.

Got a few step by step pics of how i've made it...
First bit i did which is basicly the opening for the gribblys to get out



After that i built up some fleshy greenstuff around the exit



I made the lash whip/ grasping tentacles out of wire and green stuff with claws from the Carnifex sprue attached to the ends

I then added a second and third lash whip/grabber

Yeh hobby craft do polystyrene eggs you could use if you coat them in pva

Gargoyles are the shops not mine It's such a simple paint scheme which is good as painting near identical models over and over would be boring as if it was more complicated lol

Hormagaunts are nearly done , had a game with my nids today using the new rules and it was quite fun. The mawloc is awesome imo, though after having a landraider destroy most of my gaunts ive invested in a couple of zoan's and a lictor to help get my reserves on even quicker My hive tyrants got the ability that lets a unit outflank and gives plus one to reserves too which, combined with the lictor, should really speed those reserve units and my landing spore up Should have more pics by tomorrow night

Oh and a quick rules question if a weapons strengths double or more a targets toughness it causes instant death so does that mean the target doesnt get an armor save?

Getting an armour save only depends on what armour you have and the Ap of the gun hitting your model. Instant Death have nothing to do with armour saves.

Oh, this looks really good. Love the landing spore, but one thing that might improve it is if you slice of a bit of the "egg", parallel to the ground, so it looks like its has buried itself abit. It looks abit strange now imo.

But other than that, wow! You nids look superb! The carapace looks awesome, and work really well with the purple.
Is it your gargoyles on the second pic from the bottom? They look very nice.

I love that spore pod. Depending on how I feel my Nid army will go once I have the codex in my hands I might very well copy that idea.
