    2nd Squad, 3rd Company

Right-oh. I was just assigned as Heavy Weapons trooper in 2nd Tactical Squad, 3rd Company, and since I'm also mostly done with my Marine I thought I'd see if anyone else in that squad is interrested in a coherrent colour/equipment scheme.

Should we have grenades? Company colour on the shoulder pads? What style on the tactical marking (arrow thingy)? Oh, and who are you other people, by the way?

    Re: 2nd Squad, 3rd Company

Hello. I'm the specialist for 2nd squad.
Haven't started yet, but I think it's the
upwards arrow for the tactical marking.
What about a red circle inside the arrow
with the roman numeral 3 inside it? Or a
red roman 3 in the right bottom corner of the
    right shoulder pad.
Since it was left to me,I'll probably go
with a plasma gun for the special weapon.
Grenades? Ok w/me. You want to put on
cc weapons? I want to model mine w/ a
    plasma and a big hammer.
Are you going to model anything extra on
    yours?

TWB has decided that to designate your company you can either use the standard shoulder trim option (red for you guys) or a number on the left kneepad. This came about because painting the shoulder trim a different colour makes the marines look quit different. Designating squad membership has been left up to the individual squads in question. You should probably ask what your company commander and squad sergeants want to do.

    im in your squad.

My marine is painted in the 'normal' scheme, but I have introduced the 'red' of 3rd company with the tabards, parchments - looks very good IMO without distracting from the main scheme.

    keep weapons grenades etc black/silver.

As far as truegrit skill - Id say go with combat knives leaving the chainsword to mark out the sergeant

I made a few examples of how the tactical marking could look:

Whadaya think? Personally, I'd stay away from the coloured trims.

I agree. As either TWB or Wintermute pointed out, your Marine shouldn't carry around stuff you can't equip him with. The occasional, smaller close combat weapon or holstered pistol to symbolize True Grit might be passable, though, as long as it's not over the top. Sadly, I think that means no big hammer, Exarch. Maybe a small one....

As Oxford has already mentioned, questions such as these should be decided by the Company Commander who is Avian or with the Squad Sergeant. If you can't get a decision from either of those members - contact me via pm

I'm pretty sure I said decided WITH the Squad sergeant, If I didn't, It's what I meant. It's really Up to individual how they dec out their marines, as long as they stay within the rules and guidelines we've set out, If squad Members want to combine their efforts, that's great, but it's not obligatory.

One of the Main reasons True Grit was chosen for the Warseers was that it was felt to represent the individuality of the Members of the Forum as represented by Marines, it would give much more scope for conversion too.
The commonly accepted way of representing True Grit on a model is by giving him a Close Combat Weapon, so a big hammer would be perfectly acceptable, but I would suggest you do your best to make it look as different from a Thunder Hammer as possible, to avoid confusion.

Brother Stele reporting in (2nd Squad, 3rd Co.)

    Hi all,

I finally finished my marine, Brother Jaltu Stele, 2nd Squad, 3rd Company.

I'm not much of a modeler; all I did was cut off his left fist and fit a newer model fist with a blade stuck on. Since I saw some of the other Marines holding a knife too, I thought I'd join in. I like the simple pose in the end. He looks like he's saying to his opponent "...First I'm gonna fill you full of lead, then I'm gonna cut you open with your last, dying breath..."

    ================================

    Brother Jaltu Stele's Bio:

Jaltu was assigned to the 2nd squad of the 3rd Company, and he quickly bonded with his new Battle-Brothers. So much so, that his squad brethren have nicknamed him 'Slice', for his fondness to draw his combat knife and dispatch the enemies of the Emperor, face to face.

They also joke that Brother Stele has killed more heretics/xenos/traitors with his knife, than he has with his bolter. This hasn't gone unnoticed by his squad sergeant, who often commands Jaltu to take point when the squad are tasked to clear buildings, storm enemy held bunkers, or if they need to take out enemy sentries quickly and silently.

Brother gaellus only needs decalls, some equipment (grenades and machette) and maybe some extra seals.

    (not sure i'm in squad 2 tough^^ That's why i haven't added decalls yet)

As you can see, there's still some touching-up to do here and there. I was plannign to add gloss varnish on the white parts, but I'm not sure if it'd work well with the rest of the army.

The models are supposed to be on Urban Terrain bases and have black edges.

Gae'Mot - I'm a bit confused by the left hand. Is he supposed to be waving the enemy forward saying 'Come get some!'. If so, cool.

I was allready unsure about what bases were needed (overread a paragraph, I guess), so I made sure I could detach the model from the base at any time^^

@oxford: yep, he's taunting the opponents. (the hand needs some touching up tough)

    Re: 2nd Squad, 3rd Company

He's not taunting anyone, he's saying "Four lagers, stat!"
Otherwise, good work, Gae'Mot. Nice to finally see a marine with some hair that isn't either shaved off or a wild mane of wolf's hair.

And Old School, that is a very... old school marine, actually. Cool.

Anyway, here's brother Termes, WIP. The green stuff's still a bit rough, I'm afraid.

    http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/2918/termes39fc.jpg

    Some background for him:

Having spent a long time away from battle recovering from severe injuries, brother Termes is now back in the front lines. It is apparent that he is not the same man he was before, if he can even be called a man at all. Tyranid bio-plasma ate through his eyes and into the frontal lobes of his brain, leaving him virtually brain-dead. Extensive surgery and rehabilitation has returned him to nearly the same combat efficiency as before, but the neural prosthesis cannot fully compensate for his brain damage. His speech pattern is strange and repetitive, and he cannot learn new words. Greatly lacking in creative thought, he follows orders not only unquestionably, but mindlessly. Termes will never advance beyond his current rank, but guided by a skilled commander he can nevertheless be an unwavering strongpoint for his squad and his comrades. In combat this new, autistic personality can sometimes revert into an animalistic rage, but it never lasts for long. The windows of his soul were welded shut when the apothecaries soldered the bionic eyes to his skull, and Termes’ mind is now a self-enclosed, damaged thing.

    Mother_Mercy,

This is some unique squad we have so far. Termes sounds the ideal Heavy Weapon man. He's got Brother Stele's back yeah?

What head did you use? The techmarine head from the rhino/land raider sprue? Can't wait to see him painted up.

    Gae'Mot,

Just an idea, but why don't you cut off Brother Gaellus's left hand and turn it around 180°. Then it would like he's calling his squad mates to halt.

    ???
