Beuatifully evocative work on the Vampire counts stuff .. the luminescence is just staggering you'd think these things would blow away like mist if you tried to pick them up... staggeringly effective

The Vampire counts look fantastic. The palette you've chosen is very effective and the use of osl is striking.
Very evocative pieces, well done.

Love the atmosphere you have created with the paintjob! What's next?
Good morning,
Glenning: Indeed, the bigger they are the harder they fall.
Armos and LilLoser: The osl can be somewhat of a chore as I apply it when the model is basically done. But is often worth it, adding just that bit of magic.
juicytomatoes: next will be some bits and pieces for the skeletons and zombies, followed by the gargoyles. After that I'm not sure, I might finish some conversions/sculpts for VC or do a Dark Eldar unit.
Loving Hans von Landgraf! It7's way better to see them like that than collecting dust in the back of my cupboard
Looking forward to seeing the models on the table this week!
Very funny Scotty... Now beam down my clothes.

Reinforcements to two units have arrived today.
Althwen: Indeed better to use the models, though I'm not yet sure what to do with the rest of the warband. And you'll definitely see then soon, together with these models:
I made two unit fillers for my skeletons, in case I'm on a summoning spree. I envision only true masters of the dead are able to raise a skeleton consisting of body parts of several donors.
And how they look in the unit, (two more boxes and I'm getting somewhere).
Next up, more Brooms!
While the previous unit fillers are just that, unit fillers, the follow two are an essential part of the unit, I panned them from the start and they are an integral part of the sorcerers apprentice story.
First Deadmaster Lich the apprentices master. He surely didn't expect the carnage his apprentice would wreak in his basement laboratory when he went upstairs to retrieve one of his tomes.
The well where the rogue brooms get their endless supply of water:
Now some casualties of the apprentice's desperate attempt to destroy his 'little' mistake. To bad for him every splinter will reform into a new full broom.
The unit in its current shape, there will be one more filler with the apprentice and a few more brooms and then it will be pretty much done:

Dood OMG! That sorceress rocks ! Nice log! Brooms! Brilliant!

Loving the brooms! The unit looks great with all the variety you have running through it from the Deadmaster to the broom casualties and the well. The broom with the umbrella is my favourite I think. Loved the spirit host too and the skeletons are excellent- I really like the blueish tones you have giving them that arcane atmosphere. [haven't touch my own VC- really busy with work at the moment - will get back to it soon- your stuff is so inspiring ].
Brilliant work as ever- keep it up!
My random painting log- 3/3/2013 now painting winter VC- black knights.

Wow..... I'm gobsmacked, the concept, the miniatures, the paintjobs are all drop dead gorgeous! The look is almost monochrome with the water being a nice contrast that makes the minis pop! A bit of nitpicking on the mage hat though - it is a tad to thick and the cone seems a bit of center
Truly a original armylooking forward to more

Ever wondered why Maths seemed so hard?
"Everytime I see a maths problem it looks like this: If I have 10 ice cubes and you have 11 apples, how many pancakes would it take to cover the roof.
- ANSWER - Purple, because aliens don't wear hats..."
Sick painting, particularly like the colours on the skelly units; the Gargoyles are brilliant conversions good use of the Crypt horror kit to make some original models.
AMAZING!!! love each of your units...
Your minis never disappoint but the finished zombie-brooms unit is just pure genius.

Brooms?! BROOMS?! Wow, I actually... like them!
Great job, talking about thinking out of the box![]()
Thanks for all the kind words people.
I'll admit it will be difficult to surpass these brooms but I still have some interesting plans for this army. As a matter of fact its far from finished.
This weekend I got a box of black knights and even though its a great kit I couldn't resist adding green putting and iron wire. I'll show some wip shots soon.
Some work in progress on the black knights.
They used to be a brotherhood of warrior monks dedicated to Tor. Not content with just praying they sought new methods of worship. Thus they steadily they started to develop methods of harnessing lightning, unsurprisingly in one cathastrophic experiment the entire brotherhood got electrocuted. This being warhammer getting electrocuted isn't the end of the line.

Brooms unit fillers fit perfectly!
I am waiting with bated breath to see that paint scheme on those knights, particularly given my own lightning scheme... I'll probably end up stealing one/some of your methods.
