Space Clock - free iPhone timer app for Space Hulk

Hello Space Hulkers. I found the hourglass that comes with Space Hulk wasn't good enough because it doesn't make any noise to tell you when your turn is over, and in a heated battle you can often forget about it. There's already a timer on iPhone, but it doesn't give you any warnings before your turn is over, so I made an iPhone app just for gamers called Space Clock.

Features:

• Audio cues let you know how much time is left for your turn. There's a soft beep on every elapsed minute, a louder beep on 30 seconds remaining and a final 10 second count-down before the alarm sounds.
• Increase or decrease the count from 5 minutes to 30 seconds. This allows you to play with the Space Hulk first edition rules, where the marine player loses 30 seconds of time for each sergeant lost.
• Pause and resume the count-down at any time. Perfect for when you need to consult the rule-book.
• Additional points counter for keeping track of mission objectives, such as marines saved.
• Clear interface with big buttons and a striking visual style.

If you plug it into speakers using the headphone jack; the iPod touch doesn't have its own interior speaker (I have one).

Ah, I forgot the first gen iPods have no speakers. The later models have a speaker so you can hear the countdown beeps.

Its a very simple app but will prove very usefull in tense games where you might forget to keep track on the timer. Also its free whats not to love.

Nice Easter-egg Monorail! What would be super-awesome is if when you touched the skulls they each played a game-related sfx (bolter-firing, assault-cannon firing, genestealer scream, flamer effect) to truly add to the Hulky atmosphere.

If you do update it, any chance you could bump the 'Mission number counter' up to 30, rather than 10? It'd help for those missions where you have to keep track of how many genestealers the marines have killed.

For additional authenticity, hold it in an ovenglove and pretend you're brother Omnio. :P

Have to second this, Conor! Amazing work, such a characterful addition to games of Space Hulk, and the addition of sound to a game would be the icing on the cake...

One nitpick; I was using the "points" counter to trak 'stealer kills, but it maxes out at 10. Any chance of making it count higher?
