Scratch built Chaos Reaver Titan - ideas/help welcome

Hello,

I have recently started constructing a chaos reaver titan which will be part of my iron warriors army. So far I have done very little, as I have a one year old who requires alot of my attention but I will battle on a post pics when I can.

first the feet.

this is the base for the shin- any ideas for rivets would be great. i can only think of lentils to use.

I used the blunt end of a pencil to create dents. This thing has been around for sometime so I want it to have a beaten look.

The next pic I have included a landraider for scale and wondered if its looking about right for size. please let me know. im trying to keep it to the Forge World 16inch model.

done abit more so here goes. sorry lights not very good.

i used match sticks to make the arrow then covered it with filler. this will give it a rough look.

put more arrows on the shin plate to make it look a bit chaos'y, as i said beore the pictues not great will do better next time.

Looks pretty good!

As an advice, print all the FW reaver photos that you can, get the proportions that is the most difficult thing to achieve in models, when you have that, details and all those other stuff is easier.

As far as modelling goes, that's epic!

I really like the battle damage, even un-painted it actually does look amazingly realistic.

I eagerly await updates on it. It's gonna kick a$$!

Though, one thing I might suggest, if you search terrainaholic on Youtube, and visit his channel, watch some videos of his (The dude's a legend.), he already built a titan. Yours has a LOT more detail, but I believe he might be able to help you out a bit.

I really can't wait to see how your titan unfolds, the right foot really does look amazing. There's not a single thing I could point out that I'd change.

just to let you know ive begun constructing 2nd leg, which is a bit boring, and hope to put some pics up in a day or so of the two together.

its been slow going because of work getting in the way but will keep updating when i can.

Hello again.

Its been slow going but I have finished leg number 2, well about 90% of it. still need to attach the feet and pistons but that will depend on its pose. think I'm gonna have him mid stride.

so heres 2nd leg

I made the knee joint slightly larger because it is going to have to take alot of weight, this should look fine when the knee pad is attached.

Next is with Captain Lexor for scale.

So next will be the thigh and knee pads.

I'm enjoying the project and hopefully the finished product will be worth the hard work!

By the way the orange rivets are made from lentils, should blend in well when painted.

Awesome project really, have you thought in open a project thread on the Chaos projects subforum?

Do you have any sheet, template or plane to follow?, or have you made your own planes? You could share them, this thing is awesome!

I dont have any templates to share sorry. I dont have the patience to make them because i just wanna get stuck in.

My methold is look at lots of pictures, preferably ones with models in for scale, and go from there. If it feels right and looks right then I'll go with it!

Didnt know about the other thread you mentioned (I'm new here!), but since I've started here I may aswell stay put.

Just a quick update. I have started work on the Thigh, heres my work so far:-

I have used some tubes, felt tip pens, a coke can and some balls from my sons ball pool. I have used filler to strengthen it.

Hello.

So, its been a while and I have been very busy cutting and sticking. Both legs are finished and so is the groin. all thats left I to make the front and back armour plates and some pipework.

It stands about 12 1/2 inches which is a little tall. I dont think I can keep to the 16 inch is wanted, but still think i can keep it under 20.
