Thread: SDKFZs Mechanised Guards

    Re: SDKFZs Mechanised Guards

Just been looking at pics on the Forge World site, and I cannot work out which Malcador variant you built this from (I'm assuming 'battle cannon' as you have used one on the new turret).
I have not seen the kit up close but they all look as though the issued 'turret' (bunker more like) is built into the hull top. Did you have to cut, or where the parts separate?
New turret reminds me of a scaled down Macharius turret, was that the inspiration?

@ Rhaivaen: I get your thoughts, Mate. Like i said before, everyone cant like everything. Tastes ARE different. Glad you still liked the modeling-job and paint, even if you dont like the model.

@ Vex: I think throwing your builds at the wall does not give them justice. You under value yourself, Mate Youve had some great ideas yourself.

@ Ash: Your right, its the battlecannon version ive used. The "turret", minus its roof, is moulded with the top hull. I had to saw of about 1-1.5 cm to make a level base for the turret.
Actually the inspiration was from the FW vanquisher. I just thought it needded a second crew hatch and all other builds ive seen of malcarusses use more normal russ turrets, which look to small for my liking.
From that i just let the parts i was using decide the size of the finished turret.

Thanks for all your support , but i think i know how Rhaivaen meant this. He just likes the original model and does not like me changing it. Im fine with his view of things. ( But I still like my version better )

Thanks alot everyone for over 100 000 views !
Im very proud to have reached such a high number of views, thanks again !

Think im just about done with the building of the ogrynmobile.
    Pics. ? Here you are.

Thought this ride needed a bit more equipment and bags then the normal ones. (extra rations )
Think it turned out rather good.

I mentioned the stuff i bought in Japan, well i took som pics. of them for you.

    Rather good stuff, me thinks.

I get mine here. They don't have the whole line, but it's something.

Stunning stuff! I aways thought that the Malcador should have about 10+ crew in it, so the 2nd hatch is great.
Maybe because I'm not very good with scaling things properly, but I think it's good when a piece of existing kit gives you an idea of how to solve a scratchbuild problem, or helps you with things like the overall model's size and dimensions.

SDKFZ, you are a constant source of fantastic new ideas, tips and motivation.
My own much-neglected projects always get a boost of activity when I look back upon your skills.
I'd be honoured (not to mention a bit amazed) if I was able to build things even a third as well as you do.

Ohh it's been too long since I commented here mate Great stuff as always! That ogryn mobile is wicked ;D

Hmm... Japan you say... I've noticed over the years that their rate of geek-seizure inflicting stuff is a lot higher than here in Europe, I'd better look into that some more XD

Brilliant paint job on a great looking model! I've a quick question if you don't mind, what do you do about joints on your plasticard? For example when building a box or attaching the card to an existing structure, I've been working on my counts as chimera, and I've finally just ended up adding bits to cover the joints on my design, but your stuff has nice clean edges
