    Ogre BloodBowl Team

I'm going to start playing BloodBowl again in the next month or so and wanted to begin by fielding an Ogre team (in an effort to use up the Ogre model lying around). Although probably not the easiest team to use, I think it'll be fun as my brother will be using a similar team, Orcs. Mindless violence.

I've got the following team in mind:
    4x Ogres
    6x Gnoblars (Goblins)
    1x Scrappa Sorehead
    2x Re-rolls
    8x Fan Factor

I get the impression a second Re-roll is more important than a fifth Ogre, hence my decision that four Ogres will be enough for the team. Also, as I am limited to six Gnoblars, I have chosen to employ Scrappa Sorehead. Hopefully he will score many a touchdown when he is hurled through the air.

So, do you think the four Ogres and two Re-rolls are enough for the team, or should I drop the second Re-roll (and a Gnoblar and a point of Fan Factor) for a fifth Ogre?

    Many thanks.

Keep the re-roll and buy a additional Ogre later. Once you've started re-rolls cost double, more than the cost of an additional Ogre.

I've just realised that Scrappa Sorehead is 30,000 and not 60,000. With this extra bit of money, I've decided to hire some staff.

This is how the team stands now:
    4x Ogres
    6x Gnoblars (Goblins)
    1x Scrappa Sorehead
    2x Re-rolls
    7x Fan Factor
    2x Assistant Coaches
    2x Cheerleaders

If you're playing with the latest edition of the rules (find them at www.specialist-games.com for free), then Star Players only stick around for one game; you'll be short a player for game 2+.

Don't bother with the extra staff - it'll be better to save it for those vital rerolls (no general access and bone-head really hurt), replacement goblins, and more ogres.

I was under the impression that they could be hired again and again at the lower value. I may be wrong then...

    Thanks for the comments.

You're right, you can hire stars again and again at the lower value. However, this is going to get expensive in the long run. Ogres are an expensive team to manage, and you need to get the most out of every last gold crown. Just so you know, a well-coached orc team is superior to an ogre team of the same TR pretty much every time. Ogres really suck at BB.

yea instead of the extra coaching staff you could throw that money to max out your FF as much as possible since that does go a ways towards how much income you get.

Thanks, I was beggining to think this myself. It makes the most sense as I'll need a lot of income to purchase more Ogres, and I guess Ogre teams would be very popular with BloodBowl fans.
