Black Horizon - a Beastmen log

    The ground trembles under us
As we make our thunderous charge
The pounding hooves strikes blinding fear
Into the hearts of our foes as blackbirds guide our way!

    yes!
i have mentioned it in several other logs allready, beastmen are comming.
the unstoppable force that has been quiet for so long a time has been picked up and will make an uprising also in this log.

i have been working on some stuff allready

    here it is

on the far left is the shaman.... it is the morghul master of skulls model....
that model is incredibly hard to capture decent on pictures...he is standing on these branches and he is controlling them and there are 2 ghosts coming out of the ground that are trying to reach him with long skinny arms...quite the awesome model...one of my current favourites i must say

    here is the other side...
another one of my favourites nowadays is the giant...

in the middle there you can see some centigors.. not all are done but i couldnt resist putting up as big of a bunch as possible...
they are done like the marauders in my chaos log except i did get rid of the saddles on these....more on that later

and that is all i have done so far...
soon enough you can expect some bestigors, minos and even a cursed company...i know not really beastie or very promising on the board...but i had some stuff laying around and the fluff appealed to me...will be fun to add such characterful units to any army... and fun is what its all about after all..

hope you enjoyed and i am sorry for the somewhat blurry pictures...it kinda kills some of the details...i should try to get some decent camera for that once...or something else that might help pull some details forward...
    C&C are very welcome ofcourse

This is a really great start to a Beastman horde! Looking awesome! You don't make it easy for me to resist buying these guys...
Oh, and great terrain as well! I'll keep an eye on this!

    Cheers,

That's a really nice army. Love the giant and the freehand on the banners. I'm going to follow this with a lot of interest.

Looks like the lights were a little bright but otherwise this looks like a really good start. You've made a brighter scheme work well.

I think you should do the tabards on the gors to the standard of the giant just to keep it consistant, and pretty!

I have seen these guys in real life and I can say they look as stunning as the photo's do :3
This army looks very promising to me and I hope it will be finished soon.
Well dude keep up with the awesome stuff, I know you have to wait a couple of days before you get the new models but I'm very eager to see more of this ^^

Pretty awesome stuff here, I can easily understand why you like the shaman and giant so much.
    Great work!

Ditto. I'd love some pictures of Morghur from the side.

Re: Black Horizon - a Beastmen log

thanks guys...this sure feels like a good beginning...

@ monsterzonk: would be cool...the more the merrier...let the soil tremble by hoove moving herdes....

@ Darkmark: the light was indeed too bright...i'm not really using a very good camera for the pictures...
and i think the tabbards are in fact consistant but that the light maybe took away some of the depth

@ spetswalshe: thanks....morghur on camera isnt that easy shows each time....the guy is really tricky to capture decent on cam...even GW didnt really manage on their page...
i only discovered he was that cool when i took him out of the blister... but i will try to give some decent pictures in the next update...

@ Gargobot: thanks man...this means a lot coming from you!

Very cool, the amount of effort you put into the bases really payed off.

Really great start Breazer - I'm looking forward to seeing this one develop!

Let me know what you think of the new minos and the doombull if you pick them up; I've heard mixed reviews of the kits so far.

Re: Black Horizon - a Beastmen log

@dakkapantz: thanks, giants are supposed to not like you...else they would find it sad to step on you...and that we cant use...they haz da like killin' smallies...rawr.

@mdiscala: thanks i'm glad you like them!

@ seraph74: definitly a win for me... i mean they are really strong cows standing on their back feet... exactly right...so they will have their appearance in this log.
the doombull is a bit of a pain with the 12 part metal pieces (i hate painting metal models...always looks different than the plastic versions) but he will likely also be a part of my collection...just not as fast as the minos

@chaos puppy: thanks a lot man!!
comments like that always keep you going

    @ murderdoll:
i was allready wondering if there would be someone that would recognize it...even though i changed it a little...it sounded pretty cool as an opening anyway..thank you for the compliments

Don`t you just love the feeling of starting a new army? The banners are superb and the gigant is wonderfully painted and converted.

Sweet looking beasts. The giant is awesome, and excellent freehand on the banner. Also, the buildings are really nice. Are they yours?

    Very nice work there!
That converted giant is just great, love the horns and the painting!
Same goes for the shaman, I think you made something cool out of that model..

And last but not least I like the setup, gives it more of a realistic feeling

P.S.: You should let us see more of those centigors soon

Re: Black Horizon - a Beastmen log

@ durloth: thanks man...and i definitly like the start of a new army...it always feels like the possibilities are endless...

@ mrtn: thank you...and that site sure is useful...its just a bit sad that most beast players are rather pesimistic about the upcoming army...

@ pointyteeth: thank you...glad you like him...and yeh the buildings are mine...
still have to finish the tower...but painting buildings never goes that fast...

@ smiler: thank you its always nice to hear even the lesser important units count for at least a nice view on the table..

    @ wildberry: thank you..
i am not planning on adding a big lot of conversions..just some small ones here and there...except for the centigors which i will finish soon enough...so no worries
