    Yet another Tervigon

    Yep, another.

    I've been having fun with this one for a week or something. It's based on several other's people's ideas with some of my own mingled in. Here's the prime inspiration;
    http://album.warpshadow.com/v/Hydra/...e/swarmtyrant/

For my own I dropped the idea of using the middle limbs for "eggsack-support". I thought the idea was great, but I prefered a set of talons to defend the head of the creature. The whole model is supposed to reinforce the idea that the head important to be kept intact; it's withdrawn in the body, heavily plated and has it's own talons for defense. It also has horns like a herbivore-like creature might have, like some old dinosaurs.

As can be seen it's made from an old Carnifex. I had 4 and that seems too much in their current codex incarnation. I'll keep 3, so one was left for this beast.

Some bits come from the Trygon, but these are rare.

To bulk out the Tervigon and warrant the 6 wounds, I added an extra armour plate to the front (subsequently requiring newly sculpted carapace tubes), which was sawn in two and enlarged.

    Hope you like it!

Great modelling and it looks murderous. The pose is a bit too static, have you tried putting the head in different position or is that possible?

I think a new head pose may help too, but I love the 4 legged configuration. Most of the builds I have seen were bipeds, and they always look a bit off balance. Quad seems to look a bit more substantial. Nice work!

Amaing, I love how you did the head. I wish my fexes weren't already painted, I'd love to try something inspired by this.

wow that's impressive, looks like a tervigon, not a converted carnifex. you should put more detail on the bulges on the outside. i wanna see this painted

You're right. This was my first attempt, so this is my Joe Generic. The next will be more energetic. However, a small difference in the angle of the head should be no problem, so I'll change it a bit.

This is the first one I've seen that is actually "birthing" a Termagant, and while it is a somewhat disturbing sight, I think that in itself really makes this a wonderful piece. I agree that the outer "bulge" areas could use a bit more detail - veins, venting, etc. Also, maybe a bit more chitin-armour or other similar detail on the sculpted portions of the limbs. Of course, it is entirely possible that your intended paintjob might render these comments moot.

It's painted. The base hasn't seen any work yet, but that'll come. The termagaunt needs some more green stuff to get some of that slime/afterbirth effect, but I'm satisfied with it as it is.

(try not to see the unpainted green stuff....)

That us one mean looking beast. Excellent work. It reminds me of the creature at the end of The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury; although that had bionics. The paint scheme works really well.

These tervigon logs start to become a disturbing trend here on warseer.

With every tervigon log out there, we get a deeper look on the disturbing mind of their creators....

You people make me sick with your disgusting tervigons!

You all need a check up to see if your minds are still sane when coming up with such disturbing creatures!

Anyway the fun part is that every tervigon is so different from the other! perhaps its a good thing that GW didn't made a model for the tervigon, instead we see these great disturbing sick threads pop up

Order of the Winter Rose: 1500pts Sisters of battle
The Hell Korps: 2000pts Death Korps of Krieg

there suppose to be making the rest of the nid models but apparently all the designers are fighting cause they cant agree on who does what so god knows when we will get the models they make, my bet is they wont be nearly anywhere as good as some of the conversions iv seen so far

And it seems to have done so. That thing is incredible. Great work! (I especially like how your paintjob puts subtle detail on those sac-like areas!)
