Sneakys Got way too much stuff!!! ( fantasy, 40K, Historical and so much more!)

You may remember me from my previous blogs, The more the mekier and Empire without the Empire. Both those blogs devolved into something out of my control. What started out as a way of trying to keep on track with the shear amount of painting I have to do, just made me lose patience and stray from the path.

I have decided to give in to my randomness and just paint what I feel like painting, when I feel like it. Ok it may be years before I get a single army done or gang painted, but this is my hobby and I'm going to do what the hell I want to do with it. I don't take part in tournaments, and I don't paint for Golden daemon. I occasionally sell paint miniatures for a profit, but don't do commission work yet.

So a little of what I want to achieve in the near future.......

1. A playable painted chaos warriors army
2. A painted Necron Force, possibly for sale ( im not a big fan, ive just got loads of minis)
3. A painted Bloodbowl team, cowboy gang and pirate gang for the historicals.

All this while working on my Space Orks, working full time, writing a book and trying to set up my own business.

Its easy for me to feel overwelmed in my small study. Ive got some much poo in here it is never tidy. So the 1st thing I am doing is buying 2 Ikea display cabinets. This should help me tidy things up.

That only goes so far though, I have soo many boxes of models its not even funny. I have both German and American flames of war armys, mostly boxed. A celtic horde, romans, a space marine army, Orc and goblins, vampire counts, nids, every blood bowl team, empire, ogre's, Babylon 5 call to arms, epic, Trafalgar, minas tirith, isenguard, imperial guard, napolionics and ww2 aronotica. All in verious stages of painting. So Ive put a few excess miniatures on eBay in the hope of getting shot and clearing space ( also funding the before mentioned cabinets.)

If you don't want the Dragon Ogs. in the future, i'll buy them off you if you want!!!

But seriously, It all looks cool. You may remember that i used to (and still do!) write copious amounts of lists. I helped me foucus on what i neaded. This approach calms and condenses the worst shiny-syndrome in the world, and the amount of money and work you save is astounding. I also write lists in blocks of around 500pts, and as a rule of thumb in fantasy never have a lord more than 500pts on his own. This way, i can turn up with a 2k army, and if the want a 1,500pt game, i just take away my lord. Simplez

With your chaos in particular, write a list of everything youve got (upgrades and all), and put into 500pt chunks, then put them together to make a list. It's like a jigsaw, a warhammer points jigsaw (i'm keeping that one ).

But i can't stress how awsome it looks. Keep it up AND DON'T GET SIDETRACKED!!!!

And low, did I finish 2 more trolls.

Ok the stone troll took me hours, the crappy plastic one took me 1......... I just needed it to make up numbers. I like the stone troll, its going to have 2 other stone troll buddies as company, the plastic has also got to other pals waiting to be painted up.

I also think blue may have been a mistake for the plastic ones.

Just finished my Chaos Army for this tournament tomorrow at Worcester. Like a muppet i didnt photo it before packing. Will try to snap some shot tomorrow.

Just got back from said tournament. Well I didnt win. ( I hate steam tanks. Hydras, Dragon dark elf gimmers) but I'm not bitter ( smegging war alters, boltthrowers and black guard of doom) I think I did quite well ( I'll get them next time by driving them down on the way to the tourney....)

Many congrats Sneaky, looks to be a very well constructed army with a rather fluffy yet spikey look to it!!! What was the tournament like?? where did you come??

Yes, it was good your army, the exact squares of snow half your models carried around with them was a nice touch i thought

I'm actually really suprised i did'nt win, i spent so much care and attention on each model

But in all seriousness, you got my vote, and i'm glad to see you won!

Right, totally distracted by a bet with a friend. Can I make a decent looking 40k guard army using no GW models.


here goes.

20 veteran guardsmen for starters, all armed with shotguns.

After much thought I clipped the end off the guns as you can see from the undercoated ones.

Oh I should mention that ive got a budget of £100 to do this in.

Those Veteran's cost me £11.50 for the British firing line (wargames factory) and £6 for the Pig Iron Heads.

£17.50 down and Ive got 2 troop choices.

£82.50 left. I think these guys are going to need some transport........... and buy hook and crook and some last minute sniping on ebay, ive got 3 of these for £20..... £5 postage, but im not including that in my overall budget ( unless I'm under!)
