[Red Skullz]

New day, new update

I really needed to solve the Hobgoblin issue as it was starting to annoy me that I was so stumped on good ideas for them..then I started to browse around and found this pic:

From then on it was quite easy and with the following parts:
- Dark Eldar legs (trimmed heavily)
- Goblin torso (only light trim)
- Flagellant arms
- Catachan head
- Goblin helmet (replaced the spike)

I think the result so far is quite in line with my other players for the team but still look individual and hobgoblin-y

Still some minor stuff to do but haven`t the time right now, I`m gluing up the 4 next hobgoblins so I can greenstuff them the next few days

The colour scheme works rather well even if I dislike black as a colour since I find it difficult to highlight. Should work well with variations on the different players as well so I`m happy so far with things.

Well, you've been making good progress since I last looked. I like the paint scheme, I think it'll look really good across the team. I know what you mean about highlighting black though, I struggle with it. Perhaps an edge highlight and leave it at that?

I like that you've carried the padded armour across all the players, all three types are quite different, so that should help to tie them together. How does the centaur scale up against the other two?

Well I`m daddy daycare these days, in Norway we get 10 weeks with our kid while they`re still a baby - with normal salary of course. So my son who`s approx 8 months primarily eat and sleep still means there`s plenty of time for daddy to model and paint his toys

I`m kinda leaning on leaving the black as is. Maybe throw on a gloss for good measure?

Yeah that was my aim for coherency, I`m painting up another blocker and the first hobgoblin as we speak so I can throw in a scale pic with the bull centaur as well

These are proving to be quite fun to paint up, here`s what I`ve painted so far:


And here`s a scaleshot with Bull Centaur, Hobgoblin and Chaos Dwarf:

The Bull Centaur is approx the same height as the new plastic minotaurs. Quite large but then again he should be!

I`m now starting to paint up another Hobgoblin and the helmetless Chaos Dwarf, then I`ll paint the first Bull Centaur and the fourth Chaos Dwarf before I go back to modelling the remaining players

Don`t think I`ve shown a WiP of that Hobgoblin but basically he`s based on the same parts as the previous one but now I used a zombie head and a goblin top-knot as a pony-tail. I want the ones getting the role as catcher having no helmets.
As for the helmetless chaos dwarf, well I`m pretty stoked about him and he`s definitely my favourite so far

These look awesome, a really unique team. The ginger beards struck me as an odd choice, but thinking about it no other colour would stand out as well against the black and red.

I can't say I'm a fan of the Dark Eldar legs, though. I would have thought these or these Empire Militia legs would have looked better - though I appreciate you're not going with the typical raggedy Hobgoblin image.

It just kinda fitted in as it would look silly with black beards with so much black in there already, brown would look mundane and blonde...well you get the idea, lol!

I use pretty much what I`ve got lying around due to cash, and not a lot of it. Also I wanted to show my hobgoblins as a bit more evolved than regular greenskins, after all they`ve been granted a spot on the team

G`day all!

Finally got the page for the team up and running on our league site:

Detailed hobgoblins 3 & 4:

Only some moldlines here and there and I then I`ll paint them up

Now I mixed up a lot more greenstuff than I needed on the hobgoblins (as I usually do) so I started working on the minotaur as that was the key miniature (yes really) for this team. I always wanted a Lammasu-ish look on him, here`s how it went:

I actually think it worked rather well! My worry on this fig is that there`s not really a lot of room for the teams colour scheme. Normally I`ve painted the pads black but this gent only has pads...I think since the pads are two-part on each arm that the top part stays black and the bottom part stays red. The faceplate goes red to, that should work. What I`m really worried about is all those areas with skin! I`m painting him up with the same skintones as the chaos dwarfs and bull centaur but there`s a lot of beef on this bull. Will definitely be a challenge!

Also started on the markers, staff, inducements as in wizard and star player:

Just needed to have them roughly made per now so I don`t forget them, trying to get a game in soon with the team.
