A new threat emerges

It was the beginning of the summer period on Fer'esti Prime, a time of celebrations. This was the period in which new recruits awere drafted into the Imperial Navy, when all the young boys and girls would board the ships and fight for their Emperor in the sky, to bring honor to their planet. A time for a lot of festivities to be held to support the youth of community. It was the season of harvest and the crops could then be taken onboard the ships at the same time as the young warriors. And of course there was a lot of food and drinks to fuel the festivities in the towns of Marak.

The planet was a great agri-world, the most fertile in the sector, proud to be the main supplier of food to the Imperial Navy, food that will bring strength to those fighting for the freedom that they enjoy on Fer'astem System.

Lamnar walked over his land in quiet contemplation, thinking about the glorious departure of his son to the Imperial Navy. What an honor that a member of his family could serve the holy Emperor. His son, Thomas, spent hours cleaning his lasgun and uniform, so he would be in a perfect condition to board one of the mighty ships of his Holiness.

In the distance he spotted movement, instinctively he reached for his gun to counter the possible attack of a Fer'il beast, a one meter high predator that roams the region. It probably had taken down a farm animal, he though, something that every farmer on Fer'esti Prime had to deal with. The beasts were more of an inconvenience then a threat since they were rather slow and afraid of loud noises. That was the reason Lamnar carried a shotgun instead of a lasgun.

But as he approached, he was not sure of what he was seeing, the beast in front of him was literally dismembering something which did not belong to the Lamnar's animals. As he got closer his grip tightens on his gun, as he started to realize that it was a human that was being dismembered. What was this beast, he had never seen such a thing in his life, even the colors where not those of an animal of Fer'esti Prime. The green skin and the yellowish carapace on the back seemed surreal, it rather resembled a huge Brily bug then anything, just 10 times bigger.

He suddenly realized that he was in danger, and his heart started beating furiously The beast turned to him, like if he had heard the heart beating and stared at him with his cold eyes. Lamnar now saw that other beast were exiting the woods not 500 meters from him, all the same colors but different in appearance and size. He knew that something was terribly wrong, and he said his prayers to the Emperor.

Toratina was starting to get worried, it was very late and Lamnar never came late. In addition the robishas, the main meat income of the farm, where still out on the fields, which was very unusual. Maybe he just had a little problem with his truck again, she was thinking , trying to calm herself down. She stood there staring into the dark from the kitchen window, thinking about her husband, when she suddenly noticed a weird green animal running in the yard...

Sir I would like to report the loss of contact to the second largest continent of Fer'esti Prime, Marak, in the Fer'astem System. It is a main supplier of food to the Navy in this sector, so reporting this incident seemed important to me. A contingent was sent down to investigate this matter, lead by Lord Commissar Augustus. We await details on the progress of this mission in less then a month. Will get back to you as soon as we have any further information.

Augustus opened the top hatch of his chimera, to have a look at the reported devastation with his own eyes. The Emperor seemed to have forsaken this place, he could see the traces of xenos everywhere, the bodies of the villagers where sliced and mutilated. Only an animal xeno could have done such a thing, since no building was greatly damaged, only living things were splattered all over the farmland. What could have caused such a mayhem? They did not leave any indications, and Augustus was sure that it was not caused by tyranids since this planet was not even close to any records of tyranids encounters. But what else could it be?

The armoured convoy travelled through the farmland on the lookout for the xenos responsible for this, while Augustus was staring into the distance. He tried to see any movements that could indicate either a survivor or a traitor who did not want to die for the Emperor. Either way he would have gotten some information.

Suddenly he saw a comm-station in the far distance, he immediately told his driver to head for it. The convoy moved towards the small outpost on top of a hill. On they way the quantity of dismembered bodies grew, and it was obvious that people tried to reach the station. They deserved to die! If they do not want to fight for the Emperor, why should they live for him?

As they arrived at the station Augustus had the tanks build a wall around it and had several squads enter the building. When they came out again they had a memory core with them, it contained the surveillance camera pictures. While they tried to decipher it, the squads reported that it was a slaughterhouse inside. They had to blast open the doors, but everyone was dead inside, however they did not find the point of entry of the attackers.
After a while one servant approached Augustus ans said

- Sir, they found something. Even though it was heavily damage the tech magos managed to get one single picture out of it.




One of Augustus men screamed when he saw the picture:

- Oh Emperor save us, we will all die on this planet!!

- You are right on one point, you will die on this planet! Said Augustus as he reached for his bolt pistol. One single explosion and after that silence. Augustus yelled:

- Anyone else feels like betraying the Emperor? Cowardice is not acceptable, ever! Lets get moving, back to the shuttle! We need to report this!

Sorry about my slow update but I am a little slow in updating sometimes ( see my BT log :P ) so I will post more pictures too. To be honest I do not know how well this goes but tried to make some kind of narrative log, any comments are appreciated. Just as a little defence, I am not English

OK that was way too long for you guys to wait for updates, but I have done some work now and at last, I have the the time to update this. I have been too busy with work so I could never find the time to sit down an upload some stuff. So here are a few pictures from my boneswords and lashes I made. I tried to make some kind of guide, and since it is the first time it might not be perfectly clear so if you got a question, please ask.

First I cut of the ranged weapon itself to make place for the blade, the pin (is that the right word?) is to give the whole construction more strength.



Then I took some plastic card and cut it into a basic shape, it was 2 mm strong plastic. I added the slot so it can fit on the pin.



I used an ordinary sharp knife to model the edges, and I glued it on the pin.



Then I used green stuff to make the pin go away :P

As you could see on the last picture, I used a magnet to get all the options on my warrior I want. So here is how I got the magnets onto the body.

I used a drill, I can not recall the size of it but I can check if someone wants to know, to drill four holes in the torso of the warrior.





Then I used green stuff to partially fill the holes. I tried gluing the magnets in strait away but there was just not enough material for the glue to properly sick onto. So I had to make an even surface to place the magnets. I put some green stuff in the holes and pressed the magnets you see on the pics into it, I had to wet them so they would not stick thou. That gave me a perfect fit to place the magnets on the torso.



This pic is a bit older as I ran out of battery, but you can see how the magnets are placed on the warrior.

Nice idea for making swords (I tried a similar way to yours).
The difference is just the size of the devourer (I used a monstous one - quite fitting for a Warrior prime) and the "scratched built" sword out of a carved Scything Talons of the old monstrous creature sprue.
It works well, though your way seems a way more professional

There is a second part of the sword, which is the lash. I personally do not like double sword so I had to convert lashes. Here is how I did it,

I took the other arm of the devourer, so one problem was the positioning. I forgot to mention that for the sword, I did some changes there too, will explain em when I post the picture, I have stormy weather here atm so no good light, so please be patient. What I did for the swords was to cut em on the elbow and reposition them. Also the fact I clued them on magnates gave me some positioning liberties on the shoulder.

Well anyhow for the lashes I took the other devourer arm and cut of the round part, then drilled strait in an placed a pin. Around that I put the first green stuff, so it had enough material to “grab on”



Then I rolled another green stuff “snake”, the end I placed at the end of the “ammunition cable or what ever it is” and started twisting it around the first part. Just make sure u let it dry enough time, since it will be way easier then! Trust me I tried the other way round and it was a lash fiasco :P





I twisted it till the end, but wanted to leave a double end. I tried several things for the ends, but they all looked crap, so I just left them like that.

They are not that big, so I only used a pin at the start, then put it into form and let it dry.

This arrived today, happy me Those wings look just awesome if you ask me.



I will do the winged warriors like the examples given on forge world, but ill add magnets. Here is a very WIP of it



But I got some group shots of the warriors and the prime too, all of them magnetised. I missplaced my swords and lashs so you have to wait to see some pics

I finished my fex too, will have him proxy a tervi till I have the time to convert one.





For the remaining wounds I used an idea I got here on Warseer, so if that person reads through this, thank you. I can not remember who it was or in which post I read it. I magnetized the rippers to show the wounds left, so it is easier with regeneration. Will do the same for my trygon.
