No updates for over a month? Slipping back into old (bad) habits! To be honest, the rest of April was pretty much a non-starter as far as hobby was concerned - did spend lots of time with the wife though and lots more time at work!
A few days of focussed work though has led me to this:

    C&C welcome as always....

    PC DVD!!!!

yeah... cool minis. honestly those whatever the things are called in english, snapped to my eyes ATM I opened the page and the pics got shown.

But to the thing after I've relocated my eyes... aaaaand now!

Really liking the look of these. Green and the sleeves fit very well... But.

What I don't really like is the snow. I used to base my dwarfs with snow and it sucked. I don't know is this some sort of trauma of my childhood but I think it's because in Finland the real snow looks better than basing materials from GW

    Good job though.

You may not like my next project then- I'm keeping the winter bases going with my imperial guard, as it follows the narrative I have for these two armies!

Really crisp and clean painting, Borsil. Very nice indeed.

    Re: Borsil finishes some armies....hopefully....

@Andyg2006; thanks- the pictures kind of drained some of the highlights off the deathwing tho

@Dreff; lol sorry! If it helps I'm having a bit of a crisis - not sure I want to go with the urban/winter guard afterall!

    My old scheme is:

Although I only have 1 platoon of guard painted like that so it wouldn't be too much work to redo- but the main problem is that i used GW Terracotta paint which is no longer available; nearest I can get is Revell Rusty Brown but its not quite the same... enough to bother me!
So now I am debating: Do I stick with the reddish scheme?
    Do I repaint winter/urban?

Do I repaint wasteland style based off WW2 German uniforms?
    Or
Do I repaint wasteland style based off modern UK uniforms?

    What do folks think?

And lastly, a little sneak peak - I have a platoon of old metal cadians which I picked up cheap. They are going to get stripped back and painted up as an attached unit from a different (fully motorized infantry ) regiment. Only problem is that quite a few of the lasguns barrels are snapped off, so this is my remedy!

Those replacement barrels are actually very nice. Your base-rims seem to be sprinkled with static grass, but I guess that's something you'll take care of

    Re: Borsil finishes some armies....hopefully....

Well 6 months have passed without an update.... oops....

I have not been idle though. I've been slowly working through a platoon of guardsmen and am currently working on a sentinel and starting a second platoon.
Painting the guard was a struggle, it was hard to motivate to paint so many! I think for the next 3 (3!!!!) platoons I will paint them 1 squad at a time rather than 4 at once and I will do a tank or different project in between squads to make things a bit more rewarding!

Here's some pics, from my phone unfortunately as left the camera at my brother in laws at Christmas and haven't reclaimed it yet!

As you can see I eventually settled on a simple wasteland scheme to speed up the painting process - in theory.
I have another 2 platoons to paint in this colour scheme, followed by another platoon in a different scheme...

I love your guards Nicely painted! The sentinel might need some washes or weathering though. Otherwise great work!

Small no-pic update. Another 10 guardsmen are now ready for their first details. I have also experimented with my first new paints- the mechanicus standard grey and the steel legion drab bases. Must say I'm pleased that these two are almost exactly the same shade as the old paints I've been using for the bulk of my troopers scheme! Will hopefully have pics ready tomorrow or Thursday

    Re: Borsil finishes some armies....hopefully....

Thanks sigur small, terrible pic update today:

very crappy quick pic of my (very) wip chimera battletaxi for my stormtroopers. The stormtroopers are my Commissar Lords bodyguards so I'm thinking the chimera will have a large amount of black involved in the colour scheme - maybe black and dark grey?

Another wip of the chimera. Think its getting near the time to dirty it up and get some battle damage on it...

    Thanks andy

    Small update;

weathering has started on the chimera, need to decide how I'm going to do the mud etc...

wip on the storm trooper serg who will be riding in the chimera along with the commissar lord (who is still in the blister)
not sure on the sword- any recomendations -do I stick with a blue power sword or go for a bog standard silver one?
