    Asylsoekande's WoC madness

Allright then, I've lurked Warseer for quite some time now, but never actually really considered a pLog since well, I don't have that much to do..
But now I've decided to throw up a plog in which I'll post pictures of my current stuff, and bare with me cuz I'm not that good of a painter as many others in this Forum.. which is also a reason why I'm doing this, to get some tips from ze good people of the internetz!
I'll start off with my WiP Chosen.. (just warriors converted with some Knight bitz really, I don't feel like paying more for 5 metal chosens than I pay for 12 plastic warriors..)

Champion. Note that this is also my very first attempt at NMM (nothing I'll maintain for normal troops I think..)

    More pics will come soon

Update and closeup of shield, note that the gold nmm on the rim has been changed to a better result (in my own opinion)

    Re: Asylsoekande's WoC madness

Don't have that much to show atm since my camera with which I took these pictures is out of batteries and I can't find the charger... But once I do find it (and once I make myself a lightbox) there'll be more pictures comin up.. in the meantime please do comment on these (I know there might be limited stuff to comment on due to pictures being slightly out of focus and such, but please try ^^')
I'd love some advice for a unit filler for my Chosen so if you have any ideas at all, post them!

C&C always welcome (and highly encouraged)

    Re: Asylsoekande's WoC madness

Hej, I can hardly give any comments due the lack of pictures. But they seem pretty good if you ask me.
I just started with my own WoC army and like you I am not nearly as skilled as most of the people here are but you have nothing to be ashamed of haha.

I can give you 1 tip, I used that on my Chaos Warriors and I really liked the result; When you want to have white 'fur' (or whatever it is above their cloaks) try to paint it white like I think you did and give it a little (not to much) wash with Devlan Mud. It gives more depth to the fur and it looks more.. Chaos (they are obviously fighting for ages and don't clean their cloaks/fur twice a day)

But I am looking forward to see more pictures, try to take some of their backs and some of your mini-chosen together. Good luck finding your camera-charger!

Cheers on the Fur tip, I'll have a bash at it when I have the time
whereas a cloak picture, I actually have one.. but I believe I failed a bit in doing the cloak (I've done so much better on my regular warriors)

    anyway, here goes

    Update! With picz!
I present to you, my Tzeentch Daemon prince (Original model is a Wolfen from Confrontation but I just couldn't resist as the Confrontation models are so incrediliciously beautiful)

I made him in a way so that he looks as if he's glowing, Basecoat Liche Purple, drybrush enchanted blue, wash with badab black and then a highlight of Enchanted blue again..

    and from the back

Front again, excuse the extremely bad pics, my cord for the charger for my Sony is gone, need ta find it before I can take decent pics..

    C&C Very welcome

Moar Updates, My Slaanesh Daemon Prince, also Confrontation mini, the camera seems to be unable to take decent pics without a flash, and the flash kinda enhances the highlights in the cloth so that they look overly pink.. they aren't really that bright

    Re: Asylsoekande's WoC madness

last angle on Slaanesh Daemon and on to my Khorne Daemon which is not a confrontation mini (!)

This is actually a kitbash made from a rat ogre and a spawn head, I had some random bitz to spare and the level of boredom I was suffering from got the upper hand.. This is the result!

Note that the flash again enhances highlights and well.. messes up the picture completely, the horns are really not that bright, more brownish

    Re: Asylsoekande's WoC madness

My Archaon, which I do not play as Archaon seeing how me and my friends tend Not to play Special characters due to some being vastly superior to others

Instead I play him as well, whatever I feel like (we are very proxy-friendly) and he is painted as a exalted champ/Chaos lord with the mark of nurgle on a daemonic mount, very flawed though and I think I'm going to redo him..

Also, my Sorc on Disc, Still WIP I guess, paintjob on the robe needs some work and the disc is incomplete.. I just don't know what to do with it.

    Re: Asylsoekande's WoC madness

Made a trip to my local GW store today and picked up a High elf dragon.. I doubt I'll modify it, I suppose I'll file down the HE markings but I'll play it with one head since in my own humble opinion a Chaos dragon could look just like any other dragon

I need advice on what Pain scheme to use, Would Red be good? if I do it a red scheme I imagine it'll be very dark, almost black-ish with red edges on the scales.. but I'm not sure.

So please, throw me your suggestions!

Update! Dragon painted and ready, I shall try to find my charger, it's proven to be very elusive. Once I do, there'll be a pic of the finished dragon on here. In the meantime please do try to comment, I still need suggestions on how to do effective and nice unit fillers!

Please comment on stuff you think I should do differently!

As I said in an earlier post, It's not modified in any way since I love the model too much and I'd just ruin it.. besides, a Chaos dragon is a Dragon none-the-less - so here we are, my Chaos sorcerer / Chaos Lord on Chaos dragon!

    C&C wanted!

    Local GW? In Stockholm?

I like your painting, but your photography could be better. You're too close to the models, the camera you use can't handle being that close, that's why it's so blurry. The shots of the standard bearer is good, do it like that and retake the blurry pics. Stay some 30 cm or so from the model, and crop the picture afterwards instead of trying to fill it all with the model.

    Re: Asylsoekande's WoC madness

    Well, Local GW supplier then
Ah yeah the Standard bearer somehow magically got himself a flash effect from my camera that I tried to re-enact but failed to do, also the blurryness might've got something to do with me not using a tripod ^^' But I'll have a go at taking some better pics with me other camera now that it's back in business after finding the Charger!
