    I'm happy too hear that.

@ Arctic Wolf: I had to put some mud and dirt on them or they wouldn't have the look to fit in my dirty Korps.

Look great, and glad you did do the mud. No mud wouldn't made any sense at all, no matter how clean you try to be or how high standing decorated person you are, there is no escape from mud!

Stunning work on the Commissars! the mud makes them complete with your army, and as another person says there is no escape from the mud! Keep up the awesome job! I am curious how that one tank conversion is coming along too

Wow DoubleT, you've done a fantastic job.

I'm battling with the black uniforms of the commissars at the moment, how did you paint yours? Have you used a black/grey mix and simply dry brushed once?

Wow doubleT. Just came across your blog. Great stuff! You made me to buy few commissars.
I'm working on my own DKOK and your army is very inspiring. Any advice for winter bases? Thanks

Even easier: I just spraypainted them Chaos Black and only painted the details. No Dry Brushing, no grey highlights on the black at all. Looks good enough.

idk, I never worked with something like model snow or the like. I gave some other DKoK player who wanted to do winter bases the following advice, thoug:
Don't just cover the base completely with snow, as others do. Often there would be patches of snow but the rest is muddy if the ground isn't totaly frozen. Even then, the pressed and packed snow is dirty from being trampled by lots of soldiers feets.

For Snow, Try using polyfiller mixed with baking powder and GW snow flock to build up areas where it has collected (Due to snowdrift). Alternatively just dust with baking powder (Make sure you seal with watered down PVA or it goes yellow over time). Dust both methods with a final layer of baking powder. I have also seen the GW Snow flock used widely and although I hate to admit it, it does look quite good.

DoubleT is right though, on a battlefield you would never have full snow bases, and there would still more than likely be mud beneath it from all the trampling.

Awesome, the amount of mud is just right - enough to make them look realistic without going OTT.

    Sehr geile Armee! Glückwunsch!

Wenn ich nicht noch über 20.000 Punkte unbemalte Minis bei mir herumliegen hätte, müsste ich nach diesem Log hier bestimmt noch mit DKoK anfangen...

    ^ wut?

Tips on the guard... ive found that many of the guard players at my store (bromley) use a technique that is encouraged well in the fluff:

"What the Adeptus Astartes cannot destroy, the Imperial Guard overwhelm."

    I watched a game of Space Wolves - 3K vs Guard - 1K

The guard had over 100 men - 6 kill points... he won through pure numbers...

agreed, his guard were bearded out with power weapons and commissars. I mean, no guard player should have 48 power weapon attacks on a charge from one squad of 50 men.

but the point of the matter... loads of men win games.

    its scary lol

    on the hobby side:

    Looks amazing, keep it up

Yeah, I am looking forward to field a combined squad of 30 men with laspistols (2 handweapons - WS 4), 3 flamers, a commissar and the Quartermaster 2 inch behind them (feel no pain).
