Thread: 9th Grand Company

    Re: 9th Grand Company

Hello and as always thank you for the comments!

I'm glad there has been positive feedback on the Hell Blade (as I really was'nt that keen on it)

I have finished the 2nd Hell blade. Just need to find the cockpit canopy & Pilot, (lost them - oh dear!) and also make and finish the base.

I did also start on the Hell Talon. It has been undercoated and had it's primary colour applied, but had to stop due to running out of Delvan mud. Waiting for some more to arrive in the post (can't seem to get it anywhere)

    Pic's to follow soon....

    So,

Until that arrives I have started on the Landraiders

Firstly, here is a pic of how they look now - minus all their 'Jewlery'.....

Just wanted to show what a bad state they are in now.
I have 'spiked them up' and applied a fresh black undercoat. Painting should commense tommorow with pic's following soon.

Bye for now and thanks for looking!

You've got your metallic weathering technique nailed man. I especially like the metals on your 'defiler'. It can be hard to paint nice contrasts when a model is mostly one color, but you did it.

You do a really good job making that color look metallic. Us less talented folk have to stick to black, it's more forgiving.

    Many thanks indeed!!!

But it really isn't that hard to do.

Just lots of drybrushing and finish with gloss varnish is the key as it really 'pulls' all the layers together!

I find that painting the details on a model is particularly hard and is something I DO need to work on!

Anyway, I keep thinking about getting one of those decimitators as I think my armys colour scheme would really work well on it. That or a Brass scorpion ( but I'm not quiet ready for a big project yet!)

    Hi there!

    Nearly finished the Land Raiders!

Here are some poor quality pictures of them......

I have used rust weathering powder on these, but not sure if its too much. Might wash them down a bit!

I'm thinking of putting some oil paint around the rivets to make them a bit more weathered, also run out of varnish.
I put them next to my other tanks last night and these don't seem to be a dark as the others - Think thats because of the varnish though!

Will hopefully have these finished in a few days, then I can move onto something else.

    Thanks for looking!

your hazard lines have improved noticeably. They look good.

    Reinforcements!

Got some more Armour for my Force....

I think these dreads look so much better with the FW weapons on them, Well worth the money!

(Yes that is the same plasma cannon, I have magnatised it!)

Just another shot if the converted leg pose.

I'm waiting for another Plasma Cannon, two Twin Lascannon arms and a base before I can continue!

I have done a little green stuffing on the heads to try and make them a bit more like the FW Iron Warrior dreadnought. Also the left armour plate will be for hazzard strips.

    Thanks for looking!

    Many thanks!

Glad to hear some positive feedback as I was'nt quiet sure if I had messed them up.

I have been slowly working on them and they are comming along nicely. I'm hoping to finish them over the Weekend so will hopefully have some pic's up!

My extra weapons have also arrived and they really do make these models look so much better. I'm very pleased I decided to splash out! (as they are a bit pricey!)

    Regards!

Trying to figure out what that's going to be...

What's the weapon bit on the back end of that lascannon?

The bit on the Lascannon is a A predator Heavy Bolter!

Seems to work well I think at bulking the Lascannon out!

yep, seems like a t-hawk wing to me. maybe one of the smaller variants... an eagle or a raven. but more likely a t-hawk.

    Well done! 10 points!

    and here it is.....

Also a close up of the finished mini wing. Spent all last night cutting tiny little rivets and gluing them on. Frustrating but worth it! (just hope they don't all come off during painting and when it's being handled!)
