Anyone here anything new on plans for LARGE creatures/warmachines?
I swear I heard Ronnie talking about 2 foot tall models when Mantic first arrived.
BTW, I'm officially in. Plunked the cash down for the Host of Dol Eragos last night! Seems like pretty much a whole Undead army for a great price!
I'm just hoping their forum will have a decent bandwidth, never used their old forum, since every thread took several minutes to load.

It's not just him. Compared to Warseer, their website easily takes more than twice as long to load.
It's slower than Warseer. But there's a vast gulf between "slower than Warseer" and "every thread took several minutes to load."
So, latest blog post says "something exciting" coming up next monday.
Could either be Twilight kin, 2011 rules update for KoW, or some pics of the forgefather models.
I'm really liking how much stuff mantic are managing to release every month. Last year we got Undead and Dwarfs.. so far this year, we've had dwarf kings hold + expansion, abyssals and orcs, with twilight kin and 2 warpath armies set for release before the end of the year. Pretty much double the production rate. We've gotten less plastic sprues overall (only 4 so far this year, counting the 25mm bases), but the introduction of resin plastic seems to be taking the edge off of that.
Hope we don't have to wait too long for the goblins, I'm not sure that the orcs will be selling as well as they could until the goblins are there to go with them. Would have preferred to see them before twilight kin since they are a natural extension to the orcs.

The rules update will be later this year. The big thing will be a new army list, my guess is Twilight Kin.

@Llew - How did you get your hands on one? I'm still waiting for the second part of my army deal that includes them.
Mhorgoth and the Thinking Elf General were also 50 Rewards Points originally. But they dropped to 25 after about a year or so.
I'm holding onto my points for what I'm hoping will be something a little special coming in the, hopefully, not too distant future for my dwarfs.
I ordered mine from the Open Day deals. Got that and the orc shaman, even though I didn't really *need* the shaman.
I have both coming to me hopefully soon in the second part of the Orc army deal, so not too worried.
Fair tempted to drop 25 points and get the thinking elf general because he is such a nice model.
It is, I took advantage of the offer last year to get him, just need to get me some Renedra cavalry bases for the Elf, Driller and Mawbeast now.

I'm okay with the shaman at 50 points, but was hoping the mawbeast would be on general sale.
All signs pointed to it being a cool new monster usable in the goblin list and intended as a proxy for fantasy squig herds.
If I actually had cash to spend at the open day ;_; I'd have bought a whole unit of them and painted them scarlet.
If they're in the mantic army list I will probably just buy some of the large GW squig models instead because 50 points is not easy to reach and impossible for a unit of the things... and like Darsc, I'll also be wanting a certain dwarf king far more than anything else.
I am of the opinion that an alternative model for a particular unit should already exist and be on general sale before it goes into the mantic points range, especially if the unit is usable in-game (which the shaman and mawbeast probably will be after the next update). The elf king worked because there were 2 different elf kings on sale. Morgoth was 50 points for some time, but I think they started to realize that there was a lot more profit to be made simply by releasing him as a regular model.

The goblin and mawbeast is planned with the goblin release next year - this lets you get one now.
Mhorgoth was put on sale because he was the focus of the first journal and the starter set, and we thought it was a bit odd not to have him available so everyone could get one.
