Very impressed. Offering bits may not seem like much but it's nice that they are keeping the customers options open- especially since they are selling the kits by item rather than a one off pack. I wish they had done it with abyssal dwarves, i would have happily spend the extra money to give all my models the metal weapons.
There's no reason why Mantic couldn't do it for the AD as well. I guess it'll depend on how well the TK bits do.
Considering how apparently popular the Abbysals were, I'm sure that they will soon.

A few years ago 18GBP would have been way too much for me - if it was a GW product. A standard infantry box cost ~$55AUD when it was !8GBP in the UK. I've got to keep reminding my self that 18 is only ~$30 AUD currently, so ingrained are GW"s price conversions in my mind....

I have already bought AD parts, if you contact them they are happy to sort out costs etc
But I would be really happy to see all the metal convertion parts available on the webstore.

There are new abyssal models in the pipeline (res-stic Halfbreeds have been confirmed, along with unspecified other kit/s). I would guess that they are holding back the abyssal conversion kits til then to make a bigger splash release...Originally Posted by Caiphas Cain

Ronnie has also mentioned plans to take all of the existing metal abyssal dwarf pieces and switch the material to resin plastic, for plastic/restic hybrids which should be substantially cheaper than the current models, which might be another reason. There seems to be a lot planned for the army.

i was pretty pleased at hearing that myself about the AD's, especially since i picked up the last mega army deal they had at the open day (and that box was damn heavy - soo much metal !!!!)
If you would tip over the edge of the abyss, remember that the abyss also tips over the edge of you.
Ronnie and mantic have shown that Chaos Dwarfs were a much more popular army than the bigwigs at GW ever realised. They were sorely missed after 4th edition.
(Same goes for squats.)
I reckon I'll get a core of Mantic ADs and then bulk the army out with some old GW ones I have, some of the new Forgeworld ones and then see what else is out there.

Because I thought renedra did the plastic moulds and Mantic would not be the first company that sees it's plastic producing delayed. (Victrix, Perry's). Let's hope it arrives in 2012, because good plastic goblins are needed.
I think the annoucement is more to satisfy the massa, who were dissapointed when Mantic goblins were metal.
Glad to see plastic goblins are on the horizon. They will likely be my 2nd KOW army (Undead being the other) but not interested in the metals, and even restic will likely be too pricey for a horde army.
