Looking slick.
What's with those strange bases?
Looks like no more slotta bases.
But pre terrained stuff...
I thought they those strange bases were for the one piece Goblin Spider Riders.
Yes they are calvary bases. So that maybe so.
But there is a square one. Maybe for the troll?
Yup, looks like a 40x40 to me, besides, this kit is designed to quickly turn into two forces that actually can look quite good without having to introduce new players to all parts of flocking and sanding bases directly from the start.
Also notice the thin version of the next BrB kept inside, much like the Mines of Moria and Battle for Macragge books I would suspect, seeing as it looks smaller than the current one.

Cross of Roses ANOTHER system? You ask... yes, I am that mad, thisone will be skirmish-sized

Already posted in Rumour Roundup and the box set rumour thread.
AND OH MY GOD MY H-SCROLL.
Does anyone know what the stats are likely to be for the spider riders?
"Slaughter at Skull Pass"?
I don't particularly like the idea of a smaller rulebook or stands with terrain already on them. Maybe it's just for the spiders though, we'll see.

They always do a cut down version of the rule book in the starter boxes, with just the core rules!
i think the "slaughter at skull pass" is like warhammers answer to the battle of macragge. i think those bases are for the goblins so that they wont take as long to move as usually a unit is more like a horde
If by 'always' you mean once before then yes, you are correct.Originally Posted by Xxcha
Just adding to Chuffy's response.
Up until 6th Edition, the starter/gamebox for WHFB included a full sized/complete/unabridged version of the rules.
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
Wait, you mean the 288pg monstrosity that came with my starter set is smaller than the stand alone rulebook?
No....Originally Posted by Shimmergloom

Twice if you count LotR Mines of Moria.Originally Posted by Chuffy
The small rulebook in the starter boxes contain all the rules for warhammer - no rules have been shortened or left out.
Which is exactly as it is with the Mines of Moria and Battle for Mcragge sets.
The stuff they leave out is the fluff, pretty pictures and hobby stuff that old time gamers don't need anyway.
I'll buy the new starterset just to get the new, smaller rulebook in it - it will be easier to carry around.

looks like a fine starter set, all the stuff yah need with cool Gobbos and tha rulez!

Spiders: M7, WS3, Bs-, S3, T3, W1, I3, A1, Ld3
Spiders have Poison attacks and Ignore movement penalties for all "dry terrain", they are not Fast cavalry
Base cost: 10 pts
Unit may have spears (+1 pt), short bows(+2 pts), shields (+1 pt).
Boss (+6 pts), Standard (+12 pts), Musician (+6 pts)
I'll eat all your hats if that is much off.

That said, I would expect Avians prediction to be relatively close. I will also expect to see half a dozen posts named "Spider riders are cheese" from clueless people.
