Just a few random updates, finishing off a some bits for several armies today.

A Savlar Lady Commissar - a very nice Gaspez Miniatures sculpt:

Here are some objective markers, for use with my Savlar and Grey Knight armies (I could even use the skulls as cyber-skulls):

Finally, two "Skull Priests" for my Fleshtearers - these will be counts-as Sanguinary Priests, but I don't think that the Priest model by GW looks savage enough for the Fleshtearers. Heads are from Chapterhouse Studios.

It's been too long since I have updated my thread. Here's some recent work I've been doing - I'm currently planning a 1500 point Carcharodons Astra (also known as Space Sharks) list....

It'll be a vanilla list using the Forgeworld special character Captain Tyberos - although that model is waiting for some special treatment. Here is a Contemptor Dreadnought I recently finished, and this will be the only Dreadnought in the whole list. He'll be mounted in a drop pod and hopefully lay down some supprting firepower from turn one.

It was a great model to paint and build - highly recommended.

Comments and criticisms welcome as always.

Hey, yes it is 28mm but finer scale than usual Warhammer - more like FW. The detail is great.

I thought about that - maybe using this thread for my never ending Guard stuff and another for the separate Space Sharks project. Does anyone think another thread would be a good idea?

Cheers Rhaivaen - they were a great project to build and although hardly ever used in games I'm very pleased with them!

The arm is actually from a Space Marine kit - I keep thinking Devastator, but it might be the Assault box. Just used it straight from the box.

Thanks for the heads-up for Victoria Lamb's stuff - really nice bits. I keep eyeing up the kilted legs for another project, just for the sake of building and painting them, but got a few more things to get through for this army yet. Agreed that the heads for fit right in though.

The bionic arm may be the one from the Marine Commander kit.

What, such a fun army and your not even playing with them? lol, No excuse soldier! (what do you play with on a regular basis then?)

To be honest Rhaivaen, I hardly ever pay! Much more of modeller than a player. But when I do play, I often use my Savlar army but just without the beastmen. I made a less-armoured ten-man squad of more feral beastmen which is elsewhere in the thread, and I usually use them as penal legion instead... I'm definitely not ruling oout the idea of one day making more beastmen though.

What I would really like to do is make an entire beastman 40k army for someone as a commission...! I have a vision of human commanders, battered tanks manned by beastmen, and platoons of beastmen. There are so many conversion opportunities in the WFB beastman and skaven armies.

Pay? lol, I presume play , but yea..

At least you play with them, that is cool.
Commission?, lol, are you asking now who wants to have such an army? hehehe... cool.

    Rhaivaen
Rhaivaen - I most definitely am asking who wants such an army! I'm really into making themed forces, and particular conversions just set off ideas - but sadly I've gotten to a stage where I can't make an army from every idea I get...!

A loyalist beastman force would be so good to build though - I'm imagining ogryns, beastmen, ratlings, the whole abhuman thing. It would be an excellent force to build and play I think.

On topic of commissions, and I know these are not Savlar (but they are Guard!), I've been building an Elysian army for a client. Their designation is "Dark Horse", and the army will be 2000 points. Lots of drop troopers, backed-up with vendettas, valkyries and even a vulture. It'll be an awesome army. Currently painted up nearly 40 infantry...

    Here is an infantry squad:

    And a few more:

I'm going to start posting progress on the Elysians in this blog as well, so comments and criticisms appreciated as always...

    Cheers Razor!

Some more Elysians today, which is pretty much my focus for now:

    Close up of sergeant:

    ... and another infantry squad:

Great models, but prep time really slows me down. These will be standard infantry, with vets marked out with grav chutes.

    Gorman,

I love the Beastmen, granted they were done a little while ago and not your current focus. They are such a brilliant idea and being a Guard player going back to RT I remember the whacky options in the list. As I am presently updating my old RT inspired Guard I might need to borrow your great idea.

Great log, but I think I have said so before many pages back.

Cheers Captain Brown - glad you like the Beastmen. I always keep an eye on your log too, and think you should definitely do some Beastmen for the Spiders. Would be great to see your version of them.

The Elysians march on. Here are a few that I finished at the weekend - vets with shotguns and grav chutes. I think that the chutes add a lot to the infantry:

    Close up of the squad:

    Sergeant with bolt pistol conversion:

    Meltagunner:

Corporal or just a bossy trooper:

Then a rear shot of the squad with chutes equipped:
