    The Rusted Spines - Ogre's

Before anything, the army has had a re-do since my old paining skills were barf. Go to page 5 for new beginning!

Right well yet another fantasy army log from you dear old neighbourhood spidergeek 'Cragum'

I have now in my possession a entire army full of ogres! Yay! Bet no one saw that one coming lol

Anyways here is how it goes at the moment with what i am in possession off...

    1 Tyrant/ Bruiser
    1 Butcher
    1 Hunter

    3x bulls
    3x bulls
    3x bulls
4x ironguts [will be made from bulls]
    20x gnoblars
    20x gnoblars

    2x leadbelchers
    2x leadbelchers
    2x leadbelchers
    2x leadbelchers
    2x yhettees

3x Epic Win Rhinox Riders... Yes i do own them teehee.

Not figured out how many points worth that is yet but if someone would like to help that would be great!

Anyways the theme behind the army is a rather eerie scene to be. Basically the ogres spent much time near to the haunted woods, causing over time many of the tribe to slowly start turning rather pale [ for an ogre anyways].

Carrying on, so basically the army has been known to of been spotted by empire sentry's in the far distance of the woods, just a large mysterious shadow and two burning yellow undead eyes. Skin as pale as very bone...

There mighty leader is known as the mighty albino devourer, with skin so pale it glistens in the moonlight, blood causing a silhouette on anywhere it lays upon his body...

ooooh i enjoyed writing that lol that honestly came out of no where

anyways thats a brief look at whats to come. going to paint on ogre up like skin and stuff wise as best i can tonight.

    Cheers & Loverly

Little update from this afternoons loverly little bit of work. For this army i dont want to be using any washes, bar perhaps the occasion it may be needed for a certain effect.

Anyways just a little update, done some more to the ogre standard bearer...

    Close-ups

IM quite chuffed with how the gutplate has come out. trying to get that kinda rust effect using oranges and reds...

Re: The Ethereal Tusk Clan [Ogres]

Looking great craig, had the first game with tk and im quite happy, wen u down for a game next? Bday bbq at mine on sat btw, hope you will make it. Back on topic, army is looking good, cant wait to see the butcher and hunter conversions. One bit I dont like is the fluff, being too near haunted woods turned them ethereal and eerie? I was expecting a mighty ogre kingdom betrayed by their closest allies but luckily raised back by some butcher who spent a little time in the black pyramid or something to that effect. Right now im gonna be bringing my undead, scary skeletons and chariots to a camp of ogres who are a little spooky? Another thing, saluting you for attempting to paint without the washes, I simply cant paint without them anymore as they are a godsend! Cc

Re: The Ethereal Tusk Clan [Ogres]

    OOOOOHH! whats this...

Well this morning brought good tidings as my latest addition to my army appeared... by addition i mean another half of it...

Yes i think ive created an uber tribe of ogres here.
    lets put it at this...

    my army contains...

    1 tyrant
    1 bruiser
    2 butchers
    2 hunters

    27 bulls
    11 ironguts
    12 leadbelchers

    40 gnoblars

    2 yhetees
    3 man eaters {soon to be 5}
    2 giants
    3 rhinox riders

in total that adds to i think about 65ish models... what you may think hmm not alot for warhammer... well thats only the ogre and bigger models!

    Anyways pictures...

By god ive got it in for me now aint i just! theres some things like the giant what i need to convert so hopefully shouldnt be too much effort. Btw anyone know any good sites for like model trees and tree stumps???

    Cheers & Loverly

Re: The Ethereal Tusk Clan [Ogres]

    Well hello beautiful...

I finally arise again to make a sudden appearance again with my dear ole ogres...

Due to university, painting life and modeling life has taken a bad turn. Especially modeling when i accidentally sent all my equipment like GS back home... plus the super glue.

Anyways. ive finally got round to basing these buggers how i want to but i have to say im starting to hate GW more and more for their dumb ass prices on basing material.
I finally picked up some dead grass in a tub from there and i felt like i was just using like dark haired gerbil shavings... its CRAP.

Anyways, due to ebay i picked myself up a 'few' bargains what i will be making a casual allowance onto this blog at the same time for when i finally head back home to the east midlands. But for the moment its ogres and whatever i can get my hands on.

So firstly i bring you the first two close to finishing ogres.

    With complete bases.

    The unit with halves done.

Next up is my loverly butcher.
Quite liking how the skin is goin on this one.

Annnnd finally something whats a lil special for my army.
    My gorgors.

Yes they are based on cave trolls, atm this is the wip one and its jaw is the needed work but the body is the progress.

Really would like to see what you think about em. I felt a more husky big built body would befit the gorgor roll. plus aswell still no gut there so sticks in with the fluff.

    Cheers & loverly

Always a pleasure to see a well done Ogre army.

Great idea for a Gorger there.
I also like the (close to) finished Ogres. The basing really helps them look good.

I feel like theres something just missing from the bases at the moment and i cant quite put my finger on it...

im currently at this moment working on a rhinox rider, sprayed it last night so felt its about time i started work on this big ass beauty.
im still a bit unsure about the base's rim being blue, im liking it but im not sure what others think...

    any answers?

    cheers & loverly
