Pink Angels- A girls army...

I already posted some stuff in the Army list section, but repeat it below so you know what this is all about....

After a whole year of trying to decide which new army I should start
(one of my favorites was a Fantasy Skaven force), the pictures of the new awesome Blood Angels models made the decision for me!
I had collected a few Space Marine models before, but never felt inclined to collect any boring loyalists....
With the Blood Angels and the very artistic models, I am also able to finally field a more "girlie" army (sorry boys ), different to my beloved 2500 points plaque marine force.
Although I have to say it is priceless when I see the open mouths and faces of all the boys when I, as a girl, turn up with a mutated stinking Nurgle horde for tournaments....

To my army list...
A few days ago I got enough boxes and blisters to create a 1500point force together with the few metal models I already have.
I already have assembled them and cant wait to start painting....
this army is the sixt army I collect, next to 3 Fantasy, one other 40k and a Circle Orboros army.

I like small, elite, fast, flexible and tough forces, as I have shown with my Plaque marines which have all their fast attack slots filled up (Disease can spread soooo fast....)
Generally, I hate the big clumsy vehicles we are presented with in 40k,
so I refuse to include any vehicle in my force-- so my "bikes" are always converted beefed up Fantasy Chaos Marauders.
Big smoky tanks are for mere humans!
A small, elite, fast and tough force is what the whole gene-enhanced superman business is about, in my eyes.

I still love my plaque marines too much, so I decided to invent some background--
These two forces are actually of the same chapter!
My new Angels (working title so far "Pink Angels") are the elite survivors of a horrible warpstorm that engulfed their home planet, causing the flaws in the Blood Angels gene-seed run wild in the chapter, and also producing horrible mutations. Only a few select members protected by the Chief Librarian of the Chapter (I have him represented with Mephiston) survived without flaw and mutations, while the rest of the Chapter succumbed to Chaos and Nurgle.

Of course, the Chapter is now outlawed, hunted by the Inquisition, enemies on every corner, and the few loyal survivors hardly hope to see the light of another day.
They are fighting their last battles, trying to preserve whatever honour there is left....

This is a 1500 Point Blood Angels force, and after my colour scheme will be a vibrant warlock purple, their work title is "Pink Angels" (I dont really like the Blood Angels red....).

HQ
- Mephiston (Chief librarian)
- Captain (with jump pack, meltabombs and lightning claws), I use the model of Shrike for him

Elites
- Chaplain (jump pack, handflamer=yay!, meltabombs)
- Sanguinary Priest (nothing special)
- 5 Sanguinary Guard (Death masks, 2x plasma pistol, 2x inferno pistol)

Troops
- 10 Tactical Squad (will be split in two combat squats) with flamer, missile launcher, and a sergeant with power sword and melta bombs

- 5 Death Company (Jump pack, 1 power fist, 1 thunder hammer, 1 infero pistol)

Fast Attack
- 5 "Bikes" = Marines on augmented horses
sergeant with power fist, 1x meltagun, 1x plasmagun-- this combination is one of my deadliest with my Plaque Marines!

Together, this gives me 1500 points with only a handful of models....

Here are the pictures of my models--
first the 2 metal models I have already painted.
I did them 1 year ago, just out of fun to try out my own chapter
colour scheme-- without planning on doing boring loyalists.
But now I think I will go with this colour scheme for my whole army.

After I had some time on the weekend, I went on painting my new army...
I started out with a skull white undercoat, then the powerarmour got a hormagaunt purple basecoat, wings and feathers got a grey undercoat (I mixed the grey myself, 50% skullwhite/ 50% chaos black). The base was undercoated chaos black, and then drybrushed grey. After that, the miniatures got a wash of Badab black.

As you can see below, I would like to paint the sanguinary guard in my warlock purple paintscheme, too.
I dont like the gold, and I also dont like the white suggested in the BA Codex....



My captain
This is the metal model of Shrike... I bought him ages ago as
raptor champion for my chaos troops, but never used him....
now he is able to do a much more noble job as Captain of my new loyal chapter!

I am very curious how he will look like with my warlock purple paintscheme on!

Next step would be to get my paint scheme on, pick out all the little details, and do a lot of highlighting and shading.

I dont know how long it will take, will be fairly busy the next weeks with my thesis....
but still, a little bit of painting for relaxation....

Just bought another squad of Assault marines--
this will give me another troop and scoring unit,
and a bit more flexibility...
I went with a power fist for the sarge and a plasmagun in the squad.

I have now nearly finished the basic colour of the armour of all my models--
another layer of Warlock Purple and highlights are missing.
Then I will start painting all the other details...

Theres just one thing bothering me in you're list.
3 Troops in 1500 point game?
If it's just that you don't wan't troops, I understand.
But jeez, you will lose some games just cause you can't get so
many objectives.

Hi IGoblinego- well, if I split up my tactical squad I have two troops
that can hold objectives, and I also bought an assault squad...
makes three.
My plan is to keep the sanguinary priest with one of the combat squads,
to make them harder with feel no pain-- just for the sake of keeping
that objective!
By the way, I am not a really competitive player, I am much more
into fluff and story and painting. But I am not a bad player, either.
Most importantly, I am not too bothered if I loose a game, if it
was fun and exciting!

I stopped playing with 2 armies cos all I did was win. There was no challenge.

These pink marines look interestingly good.The conversions all look convincing if unorthodox which is a good thing. Looks like its shaping up to be a highly original force. keep them coming.

Got my Blood Angels army up to 1750P now-- enough to take part in some upcoming tournaments....
Just have to get the miniatures painted....

- Chief librarian (Epistolary,plasma pistol, power sword), I use the Mephiston model
- Captain (with jump pack, meltabombs and lightning claws), I use the model of Shrike for him

Elites
- Chaplain (jump pack, handflamer=yay!, meltabombs), accompanies the Death Company
- Sanguinary Priest (nothing special), he will go with a combat squad to give them "Feel no pain" for holding an objective
- 5 Sanguinary Guard (Death masks, 2x plasma pistol, 2x inferno pistol)

Troops
- 10 Tactical Squad (will be split in two combat squats) with flamer, missile launcher, and a sergeant with power sword and melta bombs

- 5 Assault Squad (Sergeant with powerfist, combat shield, meltabombs, one squad member with plasmagun)

- 9 Death Company (Jump packs, 2 power fist, 1 Power sword, 1 thunder hammer, 1 infero pistol)

Fast Attack
- 5 "Bikes" = Marines on augmented horses, sergeant with power fist, 1x meltagun, 1x plasmagun

I dont know if this is very competitive, but the models are awesome
and I just LOVE assembling and painting them, even when painting
takes me ages....
its small and elite, and hopefully it will be as fun to play as it is to paint....
