Pink Angels- A girls army...

Before I start to undercoat him, I mounted Archilles and his pet on the base.
I also added some barbed wire to the base.
I think he will be fun to paint....

So how did the Griffin work out?

After months of low motivation and real life happenings (also known as work)
I finally did some work again on my army.
I am still thinking about all the possibilities of starting a new one, but money and time constraints convinced me FOR NOW to first finishing my Pink Angels.

One of the things I did recently was getting roman helmet crests for ALL my marines in my army (except bare headed and beaky helmets)-- I wanted to give them a more classical look. And after they are a Blood Angel successor, this fits with them being artisans and wearing special crafted armour.

I finally got my motivation for painting back, and treated myself with listening to the first 2 CD of "Horus Rising" audio. Great so far!

To keep me motivated, I also improved my miniature display in my room.
Lately, it just looked cramped and crowded, and so I needed a new shelf.
I decided to create a shelf just for "display pieces" (e.g. I am especially proud of or that are not for gaming).



Now there is now more space on my army shelf.



I like to look at my models, and seeing what I have achieved so far is often very motivating.

In the queue, there are things waiting to be painted for the Pink Angels--
another Assault squad



the sternguard is still not finished (sigh), but there is also parts of a command squad, a Legion of the Damned squad, and a Dreadnought.
No, no Blood Angel Dread Spam, just a NORMAL one-- using the venerable plastic bits.

I am actually considering sculpting a bionic eye for him out of green stuff...

Awsome, nice to see you back. I love the crests on the helmets, it gives them that 'roman' vibe.

Yesterday I did some sculpting....
considering this is my first time using green stuff, it wasnt a total failure...



This is the griffon with bionic eye, and I also made the saddle strap it came with bigger.

Some of my commanders also got some oath papers.

Looks like a chaos berserker head to me, with a little green stuff crest? Regardless a very cool looking model, they may be pink but they still look badass.

It's a Khorne berserker helmet minus the bunny ears, the crest is from Secret weapon.

I always wanted to do a vibrate pink marine army but being a broke student means im, well... broke.
Im glad to see someone had the same idea, and has done such an awesome job! Love the conversions too.

However, I do think the name need a tad tweaking...

@1201307- I think purple as a colour fits Space Marines very well, they look very royal with it. I wonder why not more people do it.
About the chapters name-- I actually meant it to be a bit of a joke -- I go to tournaments, and mostly I am the only female there. And its just so priceless funny to see the look on the boys faces when a girl turns up playing "Pink Angels".

I always thought a pink marine army should have either a really girlie name (like you have done with "Pink Angels"). or a really violent name.

Should one of those boys actually come over and talk to you about them (I don't know how often this happens, Warhammer players arne't known for their social skills with girls... ), you could always turn around and say... "Hey these are my "Fuschia Decapitators", arn't they cute".

I have to say I am quite surprised how well the boys behave here in NZ...

Well, I just realize you are from Wellington-- in the past 2 years, I have been playing tourneys there. I might even have (or NOT) talked to you there...
If time permits, I will come down again this year.

Something different for a change--
today I finished the new supreme sorceress for my Dark Elf army.

I love that model and just had to use it for my Dark Elves!

It took me a while, but my second assault squad is now finished, too.
This time I tried some sharper extreme highlights, and IMHO it looks better,
so before I go on painting other members of the army I think I will REDO the whole army and give them some stronger extreme pink highlights.
