    Wyrd Rules Confusion

    From the Rules

    WYRD
AWyrd is a character who has an innate psychic power that they
can use almost at will. You must specify which psychic power(s)
the Wyrd benefits from. For example, a character may have
Wyrd-Telepathy. Wyrd powers function just as normal psychic
powers except that the Wyrd always counts as having a
Willpower of 100. Using a Wyrd power is not a Risky action and
the Wyrd cannot suffer psychic overloads.

My group is having some trouble interpreting the rules.

Can his WP be modified when he attempts to use his psychic ability?
Or is it always at 100?

For example can Hexagrammic wards halve a wyrds WP for his psychic test?

    Re: Wyrd Rules Confusion

The Wyrd ability's WP 100 replaces the model's own WP value. It is then modified as normal for using psychic powers.

At least, that's the way we always played it. If it was intended to always be used unmodified all the time then it would have been WP 95 as a 96+ always fails regardless.

    Re: Wyrd Rules Confusion

I have always played it as replacing the psyker's own Wp. Not just "ignore all modifiers, then try not to roll 96-00".

Basically, treat the psyker as Wp 100, then apply all modifiers from there, hexagrammic wards included.
