    El Aartos' Emperor's children

    Dear warseer brothers,

This is the start of something beautiful, this is the start of another chaos space marine army.
In this topic you will find utter beauty and lust combined with brute strength and violence.

This is the second 40k army I'm starting. I'm a big fan of everything that is chaos so chaos marines couldn't miss in my growing chaos collection. I like marines but they are too "good" with all their purity, in fact they're a bunch of merciless killers with a thin shiny layer to pretend they're good.
On the contrary, chaos marines are how they look like, EVIL!

I'm planning on creating an army consisting of slaanesh models only. I like their fluff a lot and a army painted in one scheme looks better than lots of different marks.
One good thing from the normal marines are the characters and I chose one of them being my lord: Astaroth the grim. He almost looks as chaos as Horus himself with the killing intent the model has all over itself.

Well, enough talk, here are some pics.

Here's Astorath (I have to come up with another name for it). I really love this model and when GW announced the new blood angel models I immediately decided for him to become my lord.

These are normal marines, no army could go without them.

No slaanesh army can go to war without beauty and lust. I managed to get some old daemonettes and decided to put them in my 40k army. I don't know if they're good, but at least they look good.

Here's my first rhino, I kept him quite simple because the models are quite colorful and it would become one blur of pink and purple when the rhino would be as bright as the marines.

Hope you like it so far, my first update will be in a few weeks when I start on the coolest marines of all: the noisemarines!

I think the green works really well as a spot colour, really sets them apart while tying them together as a force. nice!

daemonettes and tactical marines look good! i do believe that some trophies and gold are needed on the rhino, im sure it wont detract away from the troops on foot.

im not the biggest fan of astorath personally but he sure has that vibe that makes him fit in with the EC well.

Can we get a close up of that daemonette leader?

Wow! These are quite nice!! I thought the new Blood Angels would make great Emperor's Children!! You should use the Sanguinary guard for Raptors!

Very nice purple. What color are you using?

Nice crisp painting, I agree with Hushrong definitely could do with a few more details on the Rhino.

    Re: El Aartos' Emperor's children

    Thanks for the comments guys

@Slaaaaanesh & Hushrong: I will add more details when I go to battle with it. Trophies need to be earned and I didn't have a fight with this army yet. But you guys are right, the rhino now looks a bit empty.

@Seville: The purple is just liche purple with black thinned down to almost water. I applied it on a white basecoat and did a layer of dip on it later for protection and a bit of shade. But just liche purple will do too when you apply it in a bit watered down layer and add some leviathan purple on it later. It's easier and the results are more the same if you mix it a lot of times.

Here's another pic from the daemonette champion as requested. The model is from hasslefree and it's a succubus named Imogen. Normally she has wings but I didn't glue them on because daemonettes don't have wings and it would look a bit awkward in the unit.

From now on you guys have to be a little bit patient because I have a lot of other armies to do as well and a lot of commissions besides that ^^

Looks great! If you do go back and add some details to the rhinos I think some free hand on the hatch would look perfect and would be a nice contrast to the dark purple.

I also converted Astorath into Chaos. He looks pretty cool in purple.
Looking forward to what else you have in store.

    Re: El Aartos' Emperor's children

Looking really good, I like the dark scheme on them. The Daemonnettes look great, the old models are much better. I agree that the Rhino deserves a little more though, only a small symbol or something, but the purple needs to be broken up slightly.

How good are you at freehand? A nice mark of Slaanesh across the top of the rhino would make it a great deal more dramatic.

    Re: El Aartos' Emperor's children

@Bossfearless: I really suck at making freehands so I'm not going to try that on it =P I'll see if I can get some chaos stars or slaanesh symbols to glue on it.

I hope next month I can start on the noisemarines which I will convert out of normal marines I think. The metal parts of the noisemarines are nice, but they are quite expensive.
Anybody has an idea about which noiseweapons to put in your army and which not?

    Re: El Aartos' Emperor's children

    Time for updates!
Today I bought some marines which I'm going to convert to noisemarines with sonic blasters.
And I bought my terminators with lord but I only assembled the lord so far because the noisemarines took a lot of time.

Here are the 5 first noisemarines, I'm still waiting for bits to arrive.

And here's the terminator lord. Slaanesh needs YOU! *points*

    Re: El Aartos' Emperor's children

Nice conversion work, the heavy bolter ones look spot on. Im not so sure on the plasma gun ones, it looks like the heads have juest been stuck on. I would say trin the end of the plamsa gun of a little so it blends in a little better. But great idea, where are the heads from?

    Re: El Aartos' Emperor's children

really nice pose, I'd be tempted to model a little woodblock on his base for a giggle CHOP CHOP.

can't wait to see him painted.

    Re: El Aartos' Emperor's children

@ElTanko: The heads are from the rhino set, they belong on the guns of the predator but they are given as bits with the rhino. And you're right about the plasmaguns, I'll try to put some greenstuff on it so it gets a bit more demonic look.

Tomorrow I'll post the first two painted marines and the others will follow soon

    Re: El Aartos' Emperor's children

    Updates!!
Here are the first marines painted and based. I changed the guy with the plasma-sonic blaster a bit and now the the gun looks more like one piece in stead of a plasmagun with a head on it.
Hope you enjoy! After the weekend I'll post the next bunch.

    P.S. I didn't sneeze on the right guy's base, he's still drying =P
